Which atty to use on my GLV 5V (sorry). When I use a standard Joye atty it vapes too hot unless i flood it. I tried the IKV HV 901 (I'm a 901 fan) and it was too cool. I do not understand the whole ohm thing and I don't have an ohm meter (wouldn't know how to use it if I had one, not totally helpless, can fix my furnace and change an elec outlet but this stuff goes right over my head).

I like the warmer vape on the 5v for my coffee vape. I use the drip method. Have tried many other but keep coming back to dripping.

Can't wait until his site is back up to order some LR 901's for my tobacco flavors. Been here for going on a year and just now found IKV....youch

Hi Cheryl.
Personally I like standard 2.5Ωs at 5 volts but that's about 10 watts and it's a little hot for some folks. You may want to shoot for around 3Ω. That would give you 8.3 watts.
Figuring wattage is easy at 5V. Wattage is volts times volts divided by ohms so with 5V you just divide 25 by your Ω rating.
Example: 25 (V X V) divided by 2.5Ω= 10 watts
I think you might be looking for something between 8 and 9 watts. That's more difficult to achieve with a fixed voltage PV because attys don't come in a limitless assortment of resistances. This is why I love my VV device. I can tune it to the voltage level, and therefore the wattage I want.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 25th and meeting your son as well!

In my opinion, @5V IKV cartos are the best (Fusions, Gold V2, Mega standard 510 etc etc) as they rate between 2.5 & 2.8 ohms. The LR atties obviously perform perfectly between 3.7 & 4.2V. I think that IKV HV atties perform outstandingly around 5.5 & 6V. I myself love them @6V (901-510-306) since they rate between 3.5 & 3.9 ohms (this is why they seem so cool @5V).

I think the 801 Fusion rocks at 5V and if you could be assured that they would all come in at 2.8Ω they would be perfect (8.9 watts). The thing is that they vary in resistance a bit (as all attys and cartos do). Most of the time the variance isn't noticeable but I'm not sure how fussy you want to get.
I have a pile of Fusions here so if you can find a 510/801 adapter before you come out to the BBQ I'll give you a Fusion to try out on your GLV. I also have a few 510 Gold V2s. You should try one of those too. They're pretty nice.

Did someone say BBQ? I miss summertime in Michigan, well except for the insects. My uncle has a house on Gull lake and I spent many a summer there when I was younger. It's been over 100 degrees down here in Texas for the past couple weeks already, this summer is going to be long and hot I think.

Back on topic, the 801 Fusions are my favorite for 5V.

Thanks all......I have never seemed to grasp the carto thing. I've never seemed to get the flavor of my juice with those that I do with dripping. Maybe I'm just not doing it right......usually operator error.

Mark I have an 808 adapter but I'm guessing that's different than an 801.
The flavor is is outstanding on a 801 fusion at 5.0 volt's. I could never get carto's either until I tried IKV!! I use fusions when on the go, because I'm a 901 atty guy, but don't like to drip on the go. If the 3.5 901 run's to cool for you at 5.0 volt's ( I find them best at 5.5volt's), you might give the 2.5 901 stealth series a shot.

Yep. the 801 connecter is larger. Lots of venders have 510/801 adapters. GoodProphets comes to mind. I have one you could use to try a Fusion but that carto will last you a week or more and I'm pretty sure you're gonna love it and want to get more so.....
The Fusion's body is the same size as a 510 but it has a larger connecter at the base. Here's one on my Buzz with an adapter (my Buzz has an 808 connecter).

2.5 - 3 Ohms for 5 volts is the sweet spot. That is what I use on my GLV 2.5, normally the 801 2.5Ohm minis with a 510 to 808/901 adapter.

2.5/3 = 5 volt vaping
3.5 = 6 volt vaping
5.2 = 6/7 volt vaping

Dang you would think I was new to all of this......Mark my adapters are 801s. Not sure where I got that 808 thought from other than I don't know what the hell I'm talking about!
