i definitely don't have a pain in my chest or a cough. it's really just the shortness thing, and i think it's mainly an anxiety response. honestly i thought the anxiety would dissapate after nearly a decade of dealing with it, but i guess it's never going to go away.

Hi sk8man, I have serious panick and anxiety issues and they can be overwhelming sometime. When I first begun vaping I had the same shortness of breath feeling and soon i discovered it was panick attacks caused by quitting analogs and it soon passed so I think your ok. The best help for me was breathing technques and taking a walk. Hope this helps.

I should also note that while i'm not "fat" at 158 lbs 5'11, i'm very out of shape. I get basically no exercise because I work at a desk and don't go to the gym enough. Could this be the reason? I used to get a lot more exercise than i do now. Could it just be that I'm out of shape?

You don't have to be "fat" to be out of shape or poorly conditioned. It's a common misconception. Doing something as simple (and free) as walking 20-30 minutes a day might do wonders for you.

Shortness of breath can be a symptom of panic attacks. My advice (as someone who has had panic attacks, not as a medical professional) is to talk to your doctor about anxiety meds, different ones than what you used before if you're feeling too "out of it" on those. Also, it takes time for the shortness of breath from smoking to go away. I've been vaping for about a month and a half, and I still get out of breath fairly easily. Try to relax.

Vg and pg each have fairly small percentages of the vaping population who have sensitivities. The same holds for flavorings - some are sensitive to, say, cinnamon, others to just a certain vendor's cinnamon, others to all synthetic flavors.

I'm a mutt, pretty much vape anything though I have minor vg sensitivity. At 0pg I'll notice a slight heaviness when doing intense aerobic activities. My sister is the opposite, can't handle pg.

One size doesn't fit all, but fortunately there are more choices today, it's easier to walk someone through to find a setup that works for them.

I'm another one who gets short of breath from VG. I go as far as vaping 100% PG, though I will branch out if I want to try a vendor's flavor. Last VG I had was 50/50. Good flavor, but I could feel the heaviness. I don't think 100% VG is necessarily harming anyone; it's just thick. Your lungs are clear according to your doc, so I am sure all will be well. :)

The heaviness of pure VG is fairly common. I vape at a ratio of 40/60 PG/VG and I'm fine. It varies with different people though. and When I get one of my anxiety attacks I feel like something is sitting on my chest unless I switch to a ratio of at least 65/35. I don't get the attacks that often but they happen. fortunately I don't need medication for it, I just need to focus on something extraneous for a bit. Like a leaf or a duck swimming in the nearby pond. If I don't have something like that, i start something silly like singing "The itsy bitsy spider" in my head. ;)
