I'm used to top coil tanks where I can get weeks of use from a single coil if cleaned properly. I haven't seen much information about cleaning these coils, only that you can't dry burn them.

Does anyone have experience with cleaning these? If so, how's the success rate?

I have a sonic cleaner, so I'm going to try soaking it in hot water, then into the sonic cleaner for 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water and let dry for a day or two.

These coils are super expensive, but holy cow do they ever work nicely.

I clean my coils all the time. I just soak them in Everclear for a few hours then rinse with hot water....then let them dry. The come out like brand new.

Your method sounds like it will work too.

Here's a co-op running for cheaper coils -

Also have you considered to rebuild the coils. I do and it's very simple. Here's a video on how to do it -

Micro Coil Build In The Aspire Nautilus - YouTube

I have now been using the Pre-coiled wires from FT and all I have to do is thread the coil. I use Peaches and Cream White Yarn from Walmart. Just thread it thru the coils and it's a perfect fit....no need to guess how much cotton to use.

Good Luck to You.

I'm not quite familiar enough with bottom coil clearomizers to consider re-building. I rebuilt my protank a while back, but the taste from the cotton wick was nauseating. Maybe next pay I'll invest in the tools to build them properly and save a crap-ton.

Also, the nautilus is a BEAST! Never been totally satisfied with a clearomizer before, until now. :)

I bumped an earlier topic for this question too, also about dry firing to clean. I'll copy/paste MY experience:

Im interested because Ive got 2 Nautilus tanks, and am a bit frustrated with the coils. Im getting about 4-5 days out of them, then I remove, soak in vodka for about an hour, then rinse well under hot water. Once dry overnight, load it up, and it seems to be fine for about 10 puffs, then I get zero flavor and vapor, and finally just stops working. Ive tried this on about 6 coils, all with the same result.
