Can you make DIY flavors that taste as good as pre-mixed e-liquids?

That's because you usually need a little tweak to round out a 1 flavor juice. Try adding a little marshmallow, cotton candy, or vanilla at 1 drop per ml...

I think you're right. I know there is something missing. I guess my flavor palate isn't that great because I can never put my finger on exactly what's missing. Maybe marshmallow?

Therein lies the "fun" , it might be or it might be caramel , vanilla, malted milk (you get the point I'm sure) IMO there is "no" one simple flavor, even strawberry (etc.) pre-mixed I believe isn't JUST that, (why would they give us the exact recipe ya know)...sometimes even a very small amount of "X" makes "Y" POP , it's trial and error for us same as for the big vendors IMO.

The fact is once you DO "perfect" your juice for YOUR pallete , it doens't matter what "I" (or anyone) else thinks about it, imagine even trying to get any vendor to do exactly what you really want FOR YOU....

Trust me YOU CAN DO IT! I can't say how long (or how fast) you will take, what I can promise you is this You WILL be glad you didn't stop trying!!! IF it WERE EASY "everyone" would do it!!! It is like cooking either you're willing to make better "at home" or you pay more for others to do it. To ME *I* would much prefer to ruin some dishes to be able to do it for myself and others than pay someone else who "has it already figured out" ......YMMV

When YOUR DIY "rocks' and tastes SO good , you will be SO glad you stuck with it!

I'm working on an English toffee now that causes a Pavlovian response in me every time I vape it. Trying to decide whether to add just a smidge of chocolate to it - which my head tells me might improve it a little but my gut tells me that I'd better leave it the hell alone.

Well, I worked out a compromise between my head and my taste buds and added 2% chocolate to a filled tank. As expected the chocolate added a bit of depth but it completely changed the flavor profile. Whether it was an improvement remains to be seen :)

Im horrible at DIY too, but i take it as cooking, anyone can cook, but there is a reason why there are whole careers dedicated to cooking, something i cook even if the same recipe will be crap compared to what a chef can make, because the chef wil probably grow its own tomatoes, he will know the exact ammount of salt to add and when, maybe even add a little sugar in the mix even if its not in the recipe because it balances something, and a lot of other small details that go a very long way, and as far as i know no vendor will reveal their processes.

I agree with everyone that has posted, and its all in good fun. I've matched a few juices from vendors with my own DIY, not trying to name names or vendors or what not. I havent really played with tobacco juices yet.
The biggest part of DIY is what you would call research and development. Takes time to get stuff perfect.
When I first started the feelings of "this premade juice I bought is way better" is just part of the normal thougit process. Stick with it you will create some awesome juice.
