Can you use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning tanks?

I see here people use vodka or everclear for cleaning tanks. Since I do not drink hard liquor, the only alcohol I have is isopropyl. Is there a good reason for not using this?

Isoporopyl and acrylic do not get along well.

Usually a good rinse in hot water will clean the tanks. Use iso for your coils.

I am into water cooling PC's and if I had $1 for everyone that wandered into a watercooling forum and said "I cleaned my res with Isopropoyl alcohol and it cracked!!!!", I would have a lot of dollars.

hot tap water to clean everything - if unusually nasty (forgotten clearos with dark eliquids) then 16 minutes in the ultrasonic with hot tap water does all the cleaning needed

Yes, there's a reason not to use it - the words on the label that say 'Do Not Ingest'.

It will evaporate quickly leaving no residue behind. No one is suggesting ingesting it.

+1. Alternatively, soaking in distilled alcohol, such as vodka, works very well for cleaning.

The only "safe" thing you should use is hot/boiling water.
