Cana Mod Woes

So I went ahead and purchased a Cana Modz after raving from everyone I've talked to but haven't been seeing what the hype is for. I like to drip and will throw an rda at .3 ohms on my mod at 30 watts and will only get half the performance I would throwing the same rda on a mechanical mod. Is anyone else having this issue? I would really like to make the Cana my go-to. Please, no responses saying I should have gotten the Hana; all my research shows that they are not that different. Thanks!

.3 ohms on a mechanical (assuming 4.2 volts) is 14 amps and 58 watts.

.3 ohms at 30 watts is 10 amps at 3 volts.

Yep, that's about half!

Honestly, the strength of higher-powered mods (at least in my opinion) is their ability to power higher resistance coils. Sub-ohm, especially when you start to get under 0.4/0.5 ohms, are better suited to mechs.

A higher ohm will allow you to hit the proper voltage for the mod to regulate up. Your mech only delivers straight voltage and it's capped at 4.2 while something like a 1.0 ohm coil will be able to hit 5.4 volts at 30 watts, thus why people prefer higher ohms on a 30 watt device.

30 watts really isn't desirable at anything below .6 so if you like to subohm drip, I recommend you upgrade to a 50-100w device. It's amazing for tanks and Magmas though.

A higher ohmbuild will have more wraps and allow you to utilize a coil that would have more more surface area. This translates to a better Vape for me.

Best results for me seem to be 1 to 1.3 ohm builds.

The dna30 does not down regulate. So a .3 ohm build will never use the regulation. The chip will just provide straight battery voltage.

Building a higher ohm coil allows you to Vape that coil at wattages impossible to achieve on a mech.

That's why I went with an sx350 board on my latest mod. I love my rdna with 1+ohm builds but like that I can switch my sub ohm mech toppers to my atlas and experience a nice steady hard hitting vape through the charge.

Sx350 boards have buck/boost and can take a higher voltage from the batt and step it down before pushing a lower voltage to the atty. that increases amperage proportionately. And boost takes a lower voltage and ramps it up before pushing a higher voltage to the atomizer, decreasing amperage.
