Nope. How can they stop batteries from coming in? Is the vendor going to refund your order expense? You should also be getting a letter from Customs explaining why your order was refused entry.

Sounds fishy to me.

I agree it did seem odd to me for several reasons. The vender had stated in the email that they would be re-shipping the item and from the tracking ID it is already in the system. When I order outside Canada I do so with complete understanding of what I am doing and I am prepard to be patient but this is a new one for me.

Sometimes Chinese customs will pull packages with batteries in them and send them back to the shipper. This happened to me last month. From what I hear they're at it again. It's probably not Canada customs that's the issue here, but Chinese (unless you're ordering from the US)

Yep it is from China. The logic of it seems odd, inspecting shippments going out. Then again they do have a firewall filtering the whole countries internet access so I shouldnt be surprised, but what do I know as long as I have a beer and an eGo.

The reason for them stopping shipments going out is because 99% of the stuff manufactured in China is exported, therefor they do this for "World Safety" or at least to show they do care...somewhat.

This is just what I was told.

I guess I can appreciate that. I did look around the net looking for answers and did come across several articles about counterfeit batteries from china and explosions.

There's a lot of talk these days about the safety of lithium batteries and whether they should be allowed through regular mail and as air cargo, and not just e-cig batteries. Although last year there was a fire in the cargo hold of a fed ex plane started by a shipment of e-cigs:

It is a sign of things to come. This does not apply to ground shipping yet. I believe what folks should be doing (suggestion) is to try searching for Canadian sources.

My understanding is that ground orders are fine, but they have to fly out of China, and this is where the return to sender is coming from. Not the Chinese perse, but the carrier.

In this particular case yes. I agree. However there is a movement afoot, and you provided the link and it is being discussed elsewhere, that LI Ion batts may no longer ship via normal air courier, unknowingly. In the long run what does that mean, higher prices.

I usually dont order equipment overseas if I can get it in Canada. The only reason I did in this case is I was already ordering some 510 mega atty's, that I couldnt find here and figured what the heck its only 3 bucks more for shipping. I was paying 12-14.00 for a pack of cigarrettes and smoked about a pack a day, paying an extra 5 bucks for a battery that will last me 3-6 months wont make me bat an eye. Eventually the Government will get involed and we will be paying more for the nic juice at some crappy 2-4mg level for much more. All of this will be looked at as the good old days of vaping. The re-ship was anoying but at least most vendors will give you a reach around in the form of a discount or a free bottle ect. The goverment will just keep bending us over the first chance they get.
