Yes someone from CASAA.org pm'ed me and suggested I contact them. I was VERY impressed with this person and their obvious concern.
I am still absolutely dumbounded that no one, including Cdn vendors, have not formed an Assoc. There is strength in numbers and if there were ever an issue that people are passionate about it's vaping. Thanks all for the feedback.

There had been previous posts from other members to make us all aware of casaa.org

As for canadian specific organizations....I'm thinking there is none.

I've been putting some thought into that recently. If someone could start an organization and get some health professionals on board, it could help crank up the pressure on the government and Health Canada. I'd be willing to help out such an organization where I could, but I work too many hours to actually start and run one.
Maybe a Canadian wing of CASAA?
What would you call that? CCASAA? CASAAC?
Yuck. Neither one really has a ring to it. It sound like a smokers cough...

I guess it only take someone that is passionate about it and has some leadership skills. Then evantually meetings and plan of actions with the board of directors and evantual members. This is politics.

It would not work unless a group of passionate and motivated Vapers got together and EQUALLY shared the burden. It would also help immensely if Cdn supplier got on board. Also helpful would have a partnership with a larger org such as CASAA with whom could share ideas, data and intelligence. I've seen excellent ideas/ orgs fall by the wayside because the workload was not shared evenly and fairly.

My theory is that only about 1 in 10 is actually willing to DO anything to support a cause unforunately.
I base that on a petition I ran a while ago. While it managed to get over 1000 signatures in 3 months, I could only get 3 other people to help spread the word, even though many many more knew about it.
This might be different, in that I notice that there is a certain brotherhood kind of thing with smokers than seems to carry over into electronic cigarettes. However, there aren't that many of us yet in Canada, and that brings down the number of potential supporters.

I'm not trying to be negative, but there are some hurdles to overcome.

I think vaping is all about getting its dose of nicotine. That being a drug (or a poison), it is by definition under the control of the governement. Then if things would be brought totally clean on the market, it will be controled by high standards and exclusive to doctors and pharmacies. What else could it be? Distributors are brave to run a business that is somewhat risky for now and have an uncertain future.

My hats off to you for getting a petition together. Oddly enough about 1 month ago I also had to collect letters of objection from residents in a rural area. In one week we gathered over 500 letters. Key to this endeavor was getting people motivated to assist us in the different areas. We were successful on all fronts and we defeated the Applic. we were opposing. The bonus to our fight is the Community is more galvanized than ever before and many can honestly say "I was a part of that".
No I don't take your post A's negative because it's obvious you have had experience in that area and are merely relating that experience.

In my own little way, I've been getting the info about e cigs out to others.

Anyone I come across on a daily basis that smokes cigarettes, I tell them. Some don't want to hear about it, but
most do. Some call me an angel, a life saver, etc...

I just started using e cigs. almost a month ago(is how long I've been analog free for, first time in 22 yrs.!!)

I just wish I knew of the best online places for people to buy e cigs from, so when I'm telling these people about where to buy the e cigs, I'm giving them the cheapest website to buy the joye ego-t 1000 (battery) kit from (is the only e cig I've tried). The only website I know to buy it from is onestoppeshoppe.com (approx.$114.00) and they don't have very good customer service. Vancity vapor has excellent customer service, just is more expensive.

Any good leads of websites would make me feel better about what I'm telling other people. I figure, the more people each one of us tells, that's how you will eventually get a possible organization together.

Every person I tell about the e cig, I ask them to share the info with other people too.

So far in one month approx, have told 82 people about e cigs.

I understand why Vendors haven't gotten on board with "fighting the good fight". Think about it, if you had tens of thousands of your hard earned dollars at risk of being shut down, because you fought back... and potentially your home at risk... you would probably remain quiet too...

Now I would like to see them stand up, they have a lot to loose as well, if it all gets shut down. So it's a bit of a loose loose situation... reality is, we will have to wait and see what happens in the states, where there is 10X the population, therefore 10X the amount of voices standing up for E-Cigs. Once that is settled, we can stand up and say that change needs to follow suit here.

If it does get approved, I hope everyone is prepared for a huge cost increase to vaping. We should all be gratefull now for the lowered costs compared to smoking now, because pricing will be similar to Nic Gum, and other subsitutes if it does get approved. It's no cheaper to chew Nic Gum than it is to smoke, healthier yes, but not cheaper... Just saying.
