Our families and friends are all worried about us keeping our pooch with a baby on the way, of course I just roll my eyes at them, but maybe I'll tell them that I'll let the baby pee on my dog and they'll be best friends

Some people just don't get pets.

We had a staffordshire bull terrier when I was younger and my mum would tell stories of when I was a toddler and when I was teething, I cut my teeth by chewing on the back of the dog's neck.

I don't know which is funnier, the thought of the fear in some people's eyes, or the thought of picture of a baby biting a "pit bull".

Also, during a diaper change, I peed in the dog's ear hole.

I still don't understand this misconception that people have about pit bulls, or the fact that most people can't even properly identify a pit bull..

Staffordshire Bull Terrier are gorgeous dogs - I don't know if any of you follow the Daily Puppy (the best way to start the day ) but there was one featured recently, melt your heart gorgeous:

It sometimes is quick sometimes slow just take your time most likely they will bond. I was worried about Simba cause he doesn't really like kids but he has bonded with baby Gatlin and nobody can pick Gatlin up unless I say it's ok he is the perfect protector .

How did you first introduce them? Did you make Simba sniff anything that had the baby's scent on it first or more along the lines of "Gatlin-Simba, Simba-Gatlin"

Valant is coming from SPCA...he was a beast with a good character (why they didnt destroy him) but still,a beast.

Bad with other animals,to be kept away from children,food protective,etc,etc.

It took me 4 months but now there aint anything left of those bad traits in him.

I can most certainly testify to that Martin The first time we met I brought my super excited, 45lb ball of fluff and even after constantly trying to jump on him to play Valant didn't even bat an eye lash

I kinda think Simba knew Gatlin was coming. Like he knew DW was preggers. Then just brought Gatlin home now it's like they are buddies. Simba regularily checks in him. It happened real fast. I think some dogs are more in tune with nature than others are. My last dog was Bailey not much so.

Thanks DevilFish! She's a bit of a hot-dog in the little one there. A true suck, like 95% of the breed. Scared of squirrels, acorns, loud noises, wind, her our poofs and stomach growls.

Shockingly, she's not adverse to the smell drifting up from her own feet though...

How old is she? My best friend's dobe just turned 6 and he's already got patches of white around his snout..

We had a dobe yrs ago..kilo - when she was in the house, our store would get broken into - when she was in the store...no break-in, but she'd have a $60 life jacket in her mouth! Play w/me!

I love the names and I love GSDs - such a beautiful stance when they're standing with their hind legs stretched out..Was Halo's name by any chance in reference to the game?

Yes it is, she's hilarious. She has no tail cuz she's a Manx and she loves to battle with the dog.
