Cant find a Kayfun... What other option?

Hello all,

So I have my epipe coming for Christmas and I have been looking into a RBA for it. I have loved what all the reviews and people have been saying about the kayfun style RBA however, I I cannot find an original anywhere. So i began looking into clones... Well from what I can tell besides the Russian 91%which is as hard to find as the original KFL all other clones have some kind of crazy whistle. So... anyone have other suggestions for a Kayfun quality RBA that dont have leaking problems?? Kinda thinking just grabbin a carto tank till more Kayfuns become available. Thanks all for replies.

I think fasttech has the larger kayfun clone back in stock. You might want to check it out. The only difference is it's longer at the base. I haven't read any reports of it whistling.

They don't all whistle, but there has been several posts of the russian 91 and it's clone having the whistling noise. I have the tobeco clone on order and I'm hoping it doesn't whistle, but if it does, I'm confident I can solve it. Check out this post from a happy user. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-air-flow-control-tobeco-11.html#post11479915

If you can't find the Kayfun or Russian 91% in stock, you can get a clone with all the confidence in the world. I own both the original Kayfun Lite Plus and 2 of the Tobeco Kayfun Lite clones, and the only difference is, besides how the airflow control is designed, a very slight whistling sound that could be fixed if anything, and well you can *feel* the difference in build quality. But the main aspect, which is the vape quality, is literally the same.

I agree with jcalis1394. I own the Kayfun 3.1 Clone by EHPro and I'm vaping it right now. Of the two, the one from EHPro has a more solid feel to it and it's not chrome plated (the one from Tobecco is). That may not make a difference to some, but I've had issues with chrome plating in the past (chipping off), so I spent a little more for the EHPro clone.

The only issues with the EHPro Clone are with the fill screw. With thinner juices (60/40 and higher PG) it does tend to leak a tad bit for the first 10-15 minutes (by leaking, I'm talking about a drop - it's never ran down the side, yet). I'm not sure if it's just because of gravity or if it's really that the screw needs to be just a tiny tiny hair bit bigger, but it's really a non-issue on the 3.1.

I will say, for a clone, the EHPro is a tank. It's solid and doesn't look cheap at all. Mine came from eCiggity, got it in 4 days. Come with the stainless steel tank, a clear tank, a dual screwdriver (phillips and flat), extra o-rings, braided silica, kanthal (looks like 30g), an adapter to use your own drip tip and two extra screws just in case you lose the ones that you wrap your wire on.

The one other major difference, which was a deal-breaker for me on the Tobecco clone was the silicon (?) o-ring in the top cap. It looks like it was press-fitted in whereas the one from EHPro is inside the cap, therefore won't fall out unless you pry it out for replacement.

All in all, I'd say the one from EHPro is as close as it gets to being a 1:1 clone - and I have used the one from Tobecco to do my comparing.

This is the same one I'm vaping on now:

Kayfun 3.1 Clone - Eciggity

Yes, it's about $40 less than the original, which isn't a huge huge savings, but since the majority of vendors are out of stock on both of the originals you're looking for, it wouldn't hurt to check this one out.

To add to the above, if you don't mind waiting it out, you could also pre-order the new Russion 91% from VaporDNA. It's $92.50 but they have a coupon code DNA10 which will score 10% off making it only $83.25 w/ Free Shipping via FedEx

Russian 91% Atomizer

Scheduled to ship Jan 10th-Jan 30th, 2014, but it's an option and better than seeing out of stock everywhere.

Thank you all for the response. I might go ahead and put in an order for the russian v2 for jan. Been thinking of grabbing a carto tank for the wife and just use it while I wait :) lol

That's definitely a good price on the russian. Had I not wanted to pick something up a little sooner, I'd of probably waited it out. If they have them in January, I'll be picking one up for sure just because I love the design of these tanks. The vape is warmer (I'm using a .7 ohm micro-coil) and vapor is billowing out like it would on a dripper, but it works and the flavor is good.
