Can't find pg anywhere!

I've looked everywhere, but the only place that I've seen it is online. I just want to be able to pick it up from the store. It seems that the pharmacists in Washington state aren't all too qualified. Any ideas?

I've ran into the same problem here. Heck nobody I've asked even knows what it is and I'm tired of looking. I'm just going to order online myself and save the hassle.

I was directed to go to the WalMart Pharmacy and ask them to order you Propylene Glycol and how much it would cost. You need to use the full name and if asked what you want it for, tell them you're starting to make homemade soap. I haven't tried this as I use VG because I react poorly to high PG blends.

I asked them to order some for me, but they never even heard of proplene glycol. It's craziness, I tell you.

You can try craft stores and cooking supply stores I've read that many people use it in making home made ice cream because it is an antifreeze (LOL!) and keeps ice crystals from forming in the ice cream and ruining it.

But I did find a gallon of USP PG at Central Tractor..if you live in a rural area think farm supply and maybe pet shop??

Lol, BAD WORD! Maybe home-made ice cream should be considered by the FDA as well, lol. I'll check Michael's again... when I go in there, I'm always doing it when I'm strapped for time. I just haven't seen any baking shops around here. I swear, Washington has nothing to do.

Lol! I went to two different WalMarts here, and that was asking alot I HATE that store, and neither one knew what I was talking about never heard of it. Tried to explain what it is but the look on the face said it all lol and I just gave up. Asked at RiteAide and Walgreens too once again had no idea what it was. I'm not even going to ask my pharmacist although one of the ladies behind the counter was interested in my pv. I did buy a small bottle of PG VG mix from MFS to try. I like it it works good, but not very cost effective buying it that way.

I've tried a couple craft stores here too and no luck. Hadn't thought of a cooking supply store. I'll check into that. We do have a tractor, farm supply store here but it's located on a nasty street I hate to drive on but I guess I could call and find out before hand. Thank's for the info.

I already know about all of the suppliers for PG online, but thank you for the info. I might have a Tractor Supply around here, so I'll give that a shot.

If you want a small bottle to try eBay is the best for like 16-32OZ.

Make sure it is as close to 100% as possible. (Food grade or pharmaceutical grade haven't caused me any problems.)

PG is also used as a humectant in humidors ( to suck the moisture out of the air) so try your local cigarette/cigar/pipe store, though sometimes it's mixed in a "solution" with something else so look carefully before ingesting!

the walgreens people can get it...if they tell you no...they're being lazy...just ask for the pharmacy supervisor...and use the full name...they'll have to order it but will usually have it the next day..they'll be nosey and ask what you want it for, "tell em you're having a big party and are making lots of "Lube"...this'll get you checked out quicker and less questions and hassles next time...
