RM2 on Mini 2.0. Okay, so I lied, maybe. Didn't intend to. This is the best tasting of the five I built yesterday AND it is the one where I cut the juice by 1/8 bottle using VG this morning. I have about 9 hours on it. I think it is 11 wraps, 30 ga, on ~1/16 screwdriver, wire pulled really tight while wrapping. No fiddling after by heating and squeezing coils together. 1.78 ohms. Tail on left does not go into cup although it looks so in picture. Right tail just barely touching cup. Very sweet FSUSA 50/50 double shot Butterscotch Almond (cut with the VG). Checked cap hole and it is significantly closer to left post than right, from center of posts.

I think I'm in first stages of confirming that position of cap hole and position of coil are making a huge difference for my coils and juice taste with my RM2s.

Also, perhaps the added VG is keeping coil from gunking so fast.

{edit} Rolled cotton wick was tiny when I inserted it. I juiced it up before putting cap on as it was so loose in coil.

Another coil and wick. Tails longer on each end than the one above that is my favorite so far. The cotton is rolled really tightly and I think a little thicker than coil above. Not sure where the cap hole ended up on this one in relation to coil. It's not bad, rather good, but one above still my favorite so far.

I think this coil came out 2.05 so it's on a VVG now.

Hi Rob, What do you mean cover the air hole? What do you cover it with? I'm curious as sometimes the unit does seem airy.

He means using your finger to partially block the air hole to restrict air flow. I do this too when testing new juices.

I find with a large air inlet I get less flavor

Me too. If it is too much air flow that is causing flavor loss try positioning your coil closer to the hole. I do this on certain builds depending on the juice. It's similar to restricting air flow. Positioning the coil a bit higher than the air hole also sometimes does the trick but generally this would also increase TH.

Perfect picture and picture perfect coil !

Thats how I try to get mine to look, with the air hole perfectly centered.

Been using 29 gage @ 1.5 ohm, heats up pretty fast and the amount of vapor is like it's coming from a much lower resistance.

Again awesome picture DZ !

If I vape continuously over a period of time I start to loose the taste of the juice. In my case, it isn't the hardward or the juice, it's me. It's as if the tongue goes into vapor overload and the buds shutdown. If I stop vaping for several hours the taste comes back or if I have a meal the flavor of the juice seems to come back after the meal.....most times. However, even though the buds seem to temporarily shut down, I still get good TH. Are you still getting a good TH even though the taste has waned?

Absolutely. The TH is definately there. I could be what drifter mentioned about fruit juices and cotton not liking each other. I was able to finally start tasting this dark vanilla last night after drinking 2 pints of oatmeal stout :). It was just wierd how I could taste other flavors in a carto tank or even protank, but not on my pride-and-joy (read: REO/RM2).

Looking at drifter's picture, my coil goes the OTHER way because I wrap counter-clockwise rather than clockwise if that makes any sense.

I wouldn't say the wick is TOO tight because I didn't have to mess with it a bunch when I put it in. Slid through nicely and when it got to a thicker portion of the cotton, I didn't force it, but backed it up just a hair and called it good.

Looking at it again this morning, the coils is also tucked back away from the outer edge. Win some, loose some. Sometimes it's perfect and other times.... well... I start a thread like this.

Yes indeed! I've been involved in photography in one way or another for many years. My brother and I had a photo processing business. We processed for pros and general public. I can say with out hesitation that this boy has talent.

What others have said... I might add, try a shorter wick. Clip it so you just have a tiny bit hanging out of each side. And play with the height of the coil. If its too low you can sometimes be vaporizing a pool of liquid in the basin of the atty instread of whats in the wick. You will have to squonk more often, but the flavor should be better.

A longer or shorter wick isnt going to help with no flavour so long as it isnt blocking the air hole or juice hole I leave a huge tail with mine so it holds more juice as you vape when the coils heat up and burn the juice more is readilly available with long tails. Like I said just be sure it isnt blocking the air hole and make sure your wick is not too tight

Ok... Getting flavor now. Thanks for all the tips! What I found is that my wick was too high in the air so I push it down to be more even with the airhole. Also, the main thing was that my wick was actually too THIN. Before I was always making it too thick but this time it was too thin. Not enough to choke it down obviously, but enough to hold more liquid in the coil and get a nice vape again.

Eventually I will have mastered this thing.

I just confirmed something today. The two Trippy Tips I'm using on two, in use Mini, with RM2s, were letting in a little air in top despite TTs having two o-rings. So a little too airy was reducing flavor and vapor but interestingly not TH. Many things can be used to close the gap, including o-rings that are a hair thicker but, for now, I had some tiny black hair "rubber" bands I doubled outside the cap at base of DT.
