Can't get my Nautilus apart

Not needle nose pliers, use rubber grip gloves, or ANY kind of rubber to put on the top metal part, and the other over the bottom (not over the air control). Put under HOT water and twist slowly. Other trick is to hold the Pyrex parts with a glove that has insulation (rubber) and gently twist the other end with rubber. Trust me, same thing happened to my protank 3, eventually it came apart. If all else fails, ducktape each end, and spray wd40 on the threads. Let soak for a few minutes. That should do it, but your gonna have to clean the hell out of the tank parts and probably have to toss the atty.

all those ideas are great but sooooo labor-intensive. my thinking is 'why do all that when i can fix it in 3 seconds and never have to move from the sofa'? :D I keep the pliers in my vape box -(regular ones with the hole in the middle that grips the tank very nicely, not needle nose) - and grab a rag, or the tail of whatever shirt i'm wearing & wrap it around the tank; put the pliers only on the base of the tank, hold the main body of it in the other hand, grip and twist very gently. the base of the tank loosens in seconds and i don't have to move from my seat, lol. :D no heating water, no putting tank in the freezer and waiting and definitely no WD-40. yak! lol. 3 seconds and it's done.
