I agree with what one person said: New juice!

I had ordered some crappy juice from Strictly E-juice and only a couple bottles of good juice from Tasty Vapor. I quickly got bored and slipped back into smoking a pack a day. Two weeks ago I broke down and dove in. Bought 200$+ worth of juice so I would have plenty of flavors. Turns out I LOVE Geoff's Blend.. And I haven't touched a cigarette in 10 days. Check out the classifieds forum or the Pay It Forward forum and see if you can get someone to send you out a bunch of samples. People around here are real nice and willing to help out. Just remember to help someone else out when you can!

I'm very new to this, only been vaping for two weeks, and without analogs for 8 days. But I did go through a kind of MOURNING for my old tobacco friends in the first week. Truthfully, I had a freaking identity crisis.

Then I'd smoke one (analog) and it wouldn't deliver the great feeling I expected it to deliver.

I agree with the idea that you let go of the analogs as suits you best and try not to worry it. Think of it in harm reduction perspective. Any reduction in smoking analogs is a positive step.

Good advice.

And if all else fails, visit this place:

Smokeless tobacco

Plenty of good people who also had trouble quitting with vaping alone. There are those MAO inhibitors in tobacco smoke that are absent in vapor. Some folks seem to need them more than others. But they can be found in products such as Swedish snus or American dissolvable tobacco like Ariva and Stonewalls. I know. I'm one of those people.

Good luck and don't give up. There are options, many different and a thousand times healthier options to get what you need without smoking cigarettes. It takes time and perseverance and, yes, some discomfort, but it can be done.

I'm in the same boat, although I've only been at this for four days now. My biggest problem seems to be that the vape seems to wear off faster than an analog. I could go 2 1/2 - 3 hours before craving a cig, but now I get the nic craving again in about an hour.

I started at 18mg and when that clearly wasn't doing the trick, I tried a prefilled 24mg carto. That one gives me a more fulfilling vape than I was getting, but it still seems to wear off quickly, making me want to get a better boost of nic.

I ordered some different cartomizers (V4L) and the 24 mg e-juice from TastyVapor, hoping that I just need to get better performing materials. I also changed the PG/VG ratio on what I ordered, hoping that will help. If that doesn't, I'll try upping my nic again.

Even so, I'm down to about 7 analogs a day, which is infinitely better than my former pack and a half habit.

I think for now, we should just focus on all of the analogs we're NOT smoking, rather than the few that we are. Good luck!!!

If you look at the poll
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/80124-how-long-did-take-you-stop-smoking.html
less than half claim they quit the first day w/ PV. How many voted early & had a cig. later. To cut down works for many that smoked a lot.

Most did not start smoking a pk/day after the first cig.- no reason to expect to switch to a PV in a day.

It sounds like your nic. level is good & that you are doing so good that you could quit the first week!

Some of us quit smoking near effortlessly & did not try to quit. In case this helps, I had about 7 the 4th day.

I'm about to go back to smoking full time myself.

First, let me say that if you haven't already you should create your own thread so that people can help you, as there is quite a bit about your original post that could be addressed.

With that said...

I just can't seem to find the right PV and liquid that works for me either. Granted I've only smoked 1 pack of real cigs in the past 2 months but I just can't seem to get rid of that wanting the real thing. My PV's are not being nice to me. I've only use the automatic kind I'm not to sure about having to press a button it just didn't seem it would be like the real thing to me.
You're about to go back to regular cigarettes and you haven't tried a manual battery yet?
I hope you're planning on trying one before you give up.

Some of the liquid I got was 18mg and it's a bit to high I get a skin burning reaction to it.
That sounds very strange, not sure I've heard of that yet.

Are you talking about when you get it in your mouth?
Or when you get some on your skin?

The reason this is important is because you may very well need higher than 18mg strength.
You didn't say how much you used to smoke so it's hard to say, but 18mg is a bit low for many.

I think my biggest problem has been not getting the total throat hit that you get from the real thing. I feel like I'm just sucking air every time I take a puff and that seems to make me want more.
Yeah, sounds to me like you need a manual battery.

All I can say is that you are not alone. I also smoked two packs of 120s a day. I started vaping around Halloween and got down to half a pack. My husband would keep them in his office and only give me one at certain times. If I had them available - I would smoke them. And because I, like most people, vaped more than I ever smoked - I was then going through even more cigarettes. I have tried several different models of PVs and higher nic juice just made me sick. Snuz didn't make any difference whatsoever.

I have recently fallen off the wagon big time. We're moving and it is high stress, so I have been smoking like crazy. I have barely touched my e-cigs at all. But after next week when we're all settled in, I'll start over. At least this time, I won't be starting vaping as a complete n00b.

I do believe it is more mental than anything chemical. I find myself lighting up even though I have taken in enough nicotine to make myself sick. I'm hoping one day, I will just not have the urge anymore.

Interesting topic.
I helped a female get off analogs. She was also on the 120's.
She started vaping on a janty stick then 510 penstyle.
She had the same identical problem you describe.
One day she tried my chuck at 8 volts, with an 801 atomizer.
She then purchased one herself.
Now she smokes one VS 120 a day, only in the morning when she wakes up with her cofee.
She has been vaping 4 months.
You may want to try some stronger juices? Maybe the 3.7 volts is insufficient to satisfy you?
Sometimes a small change in liquids or equipment can make a huge difference.

I have supervised her vaping closely, and mixed many different juices for her.She now vapes a blend of tobacco-turkish-mint-ginger-lime.

It is very similar to the VS 120's ...but much higher in nic content.

Angelique, I'm like you. If they're here, I smoke 'em. I had a bad day yesterday and had 8 or so, up from 2-4. If I don't pick up my pv first, and have good results with juice and batteries and atties working together, and cigs are here, I cave too easy. It's getting better. I have quit buying cigs, and even 8 of the hubby's is half what I used to smoke. I felt physically not as good yesterday and haven't shed it yet, but I've got my chuck in my lap and am getting back on the vape train. Sending all the cigs to work with him today. I got too much to do today to be stinky. I think of it as weaning myself off the other chemicals. I don't feel guilty, but I feel better when I vape than when I smoke. It's what I want to do. I have considered trying the snus, because of the alkaloids, but don't want to continue needing them if I can wean myself down and get to a happy place.

I shocked myself when I decided on my last cig on March 19. I had bought the 510 on a whim with no desire to quit smoking (1 1/2 - 2 pks.a day of Misty Menthol 120-before that VS menth. 120, 40 year smoker). After 1 week, I let the feeling "take over" that I really was enjoying vaping more. My hand to mouth is satisfied. Blowing vapor satisfies...tho not quite as much but all in all, the health trade off is huge. Still have that little talk with myself occasionally, but I DO love vaping more than smoking "just because". And the available flavors are overwhelming. Who would have known.
Any cut back is fantastic...stopping smoking cigarettes is amazing. Keep at it, you will get there.

...

After six months I'm kind of like that as well. Usually about four cigarettes a day (and not more than six in a couple mos.). Almost always, two in the early morning that I really enjoy before hitting the 36mg (dropping down to 12 for the rest of the day). And typically two in the evening that, like Angelique, I can't say as I either need nic-wise, or really enjoy. It's more attitude; part of me does not quite want to resign totally from a "club" I've enjoyed for so long. However, I can now say I've gone an entire day without a cigarette (one Friday a couple weeks ago), and intend on doing so more often, whether I entirely stop or not.
