I feel your pain. I've been vaping for 5 days now and have already been to and bought stuff from both vape stores in my area as well as placed an online juice order. It's starting to add up!
At the same time though, I have already figured out that if I stay off cigarettes for one month, it will pay for everything I've already purchased.

This bit of math make me feel better:
$14 per pack in NYC
Pack and a half each for hubby and myself equals 3 packs a day purchased
$14 x 3 = $42 per day
$42 x 7 = $294 per week
That's $588 per pay period for the former smoking budget. I've had pay periods where I matched it, but I'm still mostly under it and have only gone over it once. These are the numbers I pull out for hubby each time I get more stuff...

That's the math right there. The wife looked at me like I had grown a third eye when I dropped $200 on vaping supplies. But, when I pointed out that I wasn't dropping $9.72 at Hess or $13.50 at a kiosk when I ran out in the city, she came around. I've spent money here and there, but there's no way I'm going to hit $4,000 a year. Smoking in NY is too expensive to not vape instead.

I'm in the same boat. Found vaping, love the hobby part and tinkering with tanks, coils, juice. I have spent way more initially, but i am finally slowing down. I went through the beginner stuff phase, which got me quickly wanting a better tank, a variable device, and so forth. Then i discovered this site and found the world of online ordering and juices. If I took a picture of all my collection is the short period you would think I'm nuts. But loving every minute of it, and passing the lesser (read not as good as the newest gadget that came in a little box today) onto someone else starting out or wanting to try it. I have enough now to loan out a setup. If it helps someone else get off the analogs, I am more than pleased!!! It has done wonders for me. I hope to be into this forever.

Bought some juice to go in my new mini PTs. Did not like any of the 5 flavours I got (boo - I think it might be due to the relatively high nic content [1.8] when I'm used to 1.1/1.2, but it was so disappointing) so I have bought MORE juice from someone else without knowing whether I'll like it. I need SOMETHING to go in my tanks!

This juice thing is ridiculous. It's a constant, never-ending search for the perfect flavour.... but my tastes seem to change every week. First world problems.

For those who are sincere about slowing down the spending, we are trying to turn this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/575871-dollar-day-group.html into a mega-thread. And this group has its associated refuge-- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/vaping-dollar-day.html

The spending does slow down once you find satisfaction with your gear and juices. I call it the equilibrium point. The problem is with recognizing that you have arrived at that point.

Justification on the basis of how much you spent on smoking is a fallacy, however. I just bought a code-reader for my car.

I am right there with you guys...just checked my credit card bill and woah!! I gotta stop. Of course I justify it by telling myself how much I'm saving by not buying cigs. But I want the Nautilus so bad. Lol

Ebay has some Nautilus sales for around 20 bucks!:) bought one already and it checked out. Have a 3rd being shipped as I type this!:)

sent from my damned S4!:)

All about the $23 Nautilus can't beat it. Unfortunately i stripped one somehow messing up my mvp and in turn also the aspire. Not as bad when u break a $20 tank but $40 or more. Talk about spending to much money kinda sewms like it never ends just like buying smokes. have not smoked since December 2012 and I will say never going back no matt3r how much my hooby costs, the habit factor feels to be gone !
