I'm not talking about the tanks. I understand how they function.

What I don't understand, is the actual process of dripping. The way I see it, is it only has one use, and that's trying out a new juice. Few drops in, and boom there's your sample. Other than that, I really can't wrap my brain around the appeal of dripping. When I'm vaping, I want to vape. Simple as that. No matter if I'm out and about, or sitting around the house, the last thing in the world I would want to do is open my juice every couple minutes for a few drops.

If I found a vacuum/pump type system, I would be in heaven. I hate refilling the clearos I have, and that only takes a minute or 2, every couple hours.

How do you drippers do it? Like I said, I would hate having to drip a few drops every couple minutes.

And to be clear, I'm not ranting, or judging, or trying to be mean or anything like that. I'm honestly trying to figure out why so many people like vaping this way.

Many people believe the flavour from dripping is purer than any other form of vaping.

I'm not convinced that's entirely true (there are great tank systems out, like the Kayfuns, and a properly set up Genisis is also awesome, but they're fussy...)

A happy middle ground for many people is the 'squonkers', which are drippers with inbuilt bottom-feeding bottles.

I enjoy it for the fact that it gives me so many options in coil building. I can experiment with new builds and try to find that optimum flavor/vapor balance. Taking a few seconds to drip, in exchange for the overall production, is a small price to pay. Give it a chance....you might be surprised how much you enjoy it

I used to feel the same way, and then I got my mech, and then I got my drippers and started building like crazy, trying out new juices, and blowing big clouds. Now, I'm not really a cloud chaser, I'm a flavor chaser. The flavor from a dripper is amazing and worth having to drip every 20 minutes or so. When you are using cotton wicks, they hold a lot more juice, and you don't need to drip as often.

Some of the droppers with bigger wells can have cotton/wick on the bottom to hold liquid - my IGO-W can hold enough for 20 minutes, if I load it up, and I only have one coil right now, and cotton on one side.

You can use coffee as an analogy. Some people are fine with instant (cig-alikes), some are fine with drip coffee (clearos and tanks), some prefer french press with fresh beans (carto tank/rba tank), some like siphon filters with home-roasted beans, and a specific brand/blend (dripping).

And then there's people who drink....Starbucks...*shudder*...

It's all coffee, it's all good, and everyone has their preference.

I recently bought a RDA because I came to the conclusion that most tanks seem over-rated imo. I've always had problems with the protanks and aspire bdc's and wanted something that wasnt going to ruin all the juice in the tank when something burns in the coils. I ordered a Nemesis and it should be coming in the mail soon so I can start cloud chasing and sub ohming but as of right now, its just the simplicity of dripping that attracts me.

Greetings and welcome to ECF CS!
Drippin' is great for testing new flavors for sure. When it's for testing purposes I use a 510 atty.

But....... dripping is also a great way to get clean flavor.
For this I've been using a Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer, RTA. My favorite at the moment is a Youda Igo-L.

With an RTA you build your own coil to suit your preferences rather than take what's available in ready made heads.
Much, much less expensive than buying heads and the vape is so very much superior.

Yes, you need to drip into the device occasionally but for me it's worth it. FWIW, the Igo-L has a lip around the base and will hold around 10 to 12 drops. I get quite a few hits off that amount.

True, clean flavor, super easy to change up flavors by putting in a new bit of cotton wick and go and.... did I say it tastes great!

For out and about I use clearos, Ego-CC's or Innokin I16's, but at home, I be drippin' (-:

Drippers are perfect for me in conserving my juice. Putting them into tanks makes it possible to waste it if there's a leak or needing to replace a bad coil. Along with the huge flavor difference in drippers, it's cool for me because a lot of your e liquid flavors just aren't great to vape all day. So in a dripper with a micro coil and cotton build. All you gotta do it take out bad cotton, run through some water, dry burn (making the coils glow red hot to burn off anything), and throw some fresh cotton in and your ready for a new juice. No throwing out juice or recycling it. Better vapor production and throat hit are some more benefits of dripping.

I was just like you in wondering what the fuss wad all about with drippers but I've grown to love my Igo-w. I do a dual micro coil and drilled out the air holes to 5/16. Lung hits only. No mouth to lung. Pop off the drip tip, put about 10 drips in and it last quite a while depending on your build. Only thing that sucks is you tend to have slight leakage through the air holes if you aren't holding it properly. You must always make sure the dual air holes are pointing left and right so you don't spill anything. (or a single hole pointing directly away from you)

If you need to go out with it and need to store in a pocket or something all you have to do is vape it dry or obsorb some juice up with a napkin. Oh and you can't forget your bottle of juice. ;)

My Igo could hold 1 ml. So it wasn't that bad. But now I have a reo. 6ml on board. No more dripping. Just push the bottle and juice flows up wets the wicks and gets sucked back down. After using it I have retired all my other mods and dripping atomizers. It's pretty awesome.

I had no interest in dripping because it seemed like it would be a hassle, but since I just started out my friend let me borrow his to try the different juices he gave me as samples. That was Monday, by Tuesday afternoon, I was asking how much he wanted for it. I have no interest to use my tanks anymore. I keep my juice in a bottle with a needle tipped top and soak the cotton wick and roll with it. I can usually get about an hour before I have to resaturate, which only takes a minute. If I want to change flavors, it take less than 5 minutes to get it all set up and vape again. With a tank, I would have to clean it out, change the coil, fill it, then roll with it. I only have 3 tanks, and I only like to use 2 of them.

My dripper can be changed to a genesis style tank, but I don't think I need to do that.

Wow. A lot of great replies. Thanks for the insight into dripping.

Honestly, the idea of making a coil intimidates me slightly. I've only be vaping for about 2.5 weeks so I'm very new to all of this. All I have is a single Vision VV Spinner and a Vamo V5 currently being shipped (with no updates all day ugh). I absolutley love the ease of use of the BCCs and BDCs I have. I do get the occasional burnt taste/dry hit, but I usually just shake the clearo and I'm back to yummy hits.

I'm sure I'll get into it eventually, since why not right? But for now, even a RBA seems like too much for me. I was looking at the Kayfun 3.1 clone from FastTech for $49, but like I said, at this point in time, I don't want to worry about building my own coils and things like that.

Who knows, maybe I'm naive, but the BCCs and BDCs with the stock atomizers work beautifully for me.

I'm sort of an old school dripper. Dripping started as a way of making the old cart and atomizer systems work because the carts sucked. I drip on an automatic battery with a de-spiked ego-C atomizer. Until recently, it was the only way I vaped.

There is a bit of an art to it, and a ritual. And when everything else stops working properly, dripping still will.

I am new to gaping and was using vivi nova tanks, which by the way i love, then it got cold and they didn't work for ...., i use 50/50 pg/vg mix on my juices so that i'm sure has something to do with it, so in my search for something to work in the cold i tried dripping atomizers which work great, cold or not. but you can only put a drop or two in them then you have to drip again, thats when i got into the rebuildable atomizers and now i am hooked, some of them can hold up to 30 drops at a time which is pretty good.
