To stop monopolizing the Suncoast group's thread, I finally started this one to get some input for having a meet in Cape Coral. Several of you have already offered to help spread the word or do whatever you can to help, and it will be appreciated. I've never planned, nor had the chance to attend a meet yet, so you guys that have "been there/done that" will be a great asset.

KTaylor and I have already scouted a couple locations and talked to business owners. I think the most promising one so far is Sluggers Pizzeria. I've known the owner, Rob, since he opened; and I usually grab lunch there at least once a week. Rob is a current smoker, who I've been working on converting for a while now. He's allowed me to vape in his restaurant since the first time I took my PV in to show him. He's wanted to give vaping a try since then, but as he's told me, running his own business takes up all his time. He is vaping friendly though and said he'd be more than happy to have a group meet there. For those interested, the menu can be found on the above link. KTaylor has also spoken with the owner of another local restaurant, who happens to be a vaper himself; but I don't think he's committed to anything just yet, so I'll hold off on those details for now.

Unfortunately, the whole month of September is out for the two of us on the "committee" so far. October is looking much more promising, not to mention that would give us ample time to plan and get the word out. No exact date was discussed yet, but I'm assuming most people would prefer a weekend?

The owners Scott and Lorrie were the ones that helped KT and I get into vaping; and I'm sure they'd love a visit from some out-of-towners. Their address and info is in the link above.
OK guys - chime in with your thoughts and ideas. I didn't really set out with the intent of planning a meet, and I'd rather not get so wrapped up in planning that I wouldn't get to enjoy it. What I'm hoping comes of all this is an easy-going, informal, get together to sit down and get to BS and vape with you all. Any ideas are more than welcome!

Then Vapin' in the Cape could put up info in their shop if they'd like as well to garner more local interest from vapers that may not do forums. I think a few from the Suncoast group might mosey on down... I know I'll try to.
