DOH! How could I forget such a basic thing. I feel like a total ..... now :D

Indeed, it seems the main residue was on the bottom, well shaken it now even smells chocolaty. Hehe thanks man.

BTW how many drops of caramel do you prefer. Let's say for a 5ml liquid? I found it strangely strong but I think when testing I went overboard with the amount. And wasn't well shaken then too

Yeah, I think capellas use VG as the vehicle so they are very thick. I actually don't use drops to measure, since depending on the thickness of the liquid, one may make big drops, another small. I use mL, measured with a graduated syringe. I'm also in a sort of flavor transition period, where I am finding I prefer less flavor to more. Most like about a 10-20% flavor, I'm around 3-4% these days. I would start with a 10%, which would be in 5 mL of total juice volume about 10 drops. If you want more flavor, add more drops. the caramel I'm doing now also has a little vanilla custard in it. Capella caramel is more of a sweet background, rather than an overt flavor, like chocolate. Its actually my most used flavor now, since it combines really well with other coffee/toffee/choc/nut flavors.

But for a dessert vape, dbl choc and toasted almond is divine. Very much like a Hershey's with almond bar.

I use Scubabatdan's e-juice calculator spreadsheet for almost all my DIYs. I think any post he makes has it in his signature now.

Capellas, along with Loranns, uses PG (not VG) in their flavorings as an emulsifier. If you are not allergic or overly sensitive to PG, then you should be fine. Anyone who needs to vape all VG juice needs to steer clear of these flavorings.

Bitey, thanks for the correction, but the ingredients for some of the flavors I have just list nat and art flavors and purified water, no PG or VG. Some do list PG, so I was certinaly wrong on those. Did you call them about what they use? They are all thick, so they have to be using one of the two.

Since my body really does not like PG, this would explain why I was naturally starting using less and less flavor. Thanks for the heads up! For me this is important.

The Vanilla Custard IS addictive!! But I've also developed an addiction to the Strawberries & Creme. Capella's is my favorite flavorings provider. They are a bit slow on the shipping end, but their flavorings are consistently yummy.

Has anyone tried the flavorings for water? The first ingredient is often purified water, so extra VG would be called for. Also, they contain Stevia ...

I'm not sure if a French Toast smelling hand would be good or bad! :p

I have the Banana Split with Stevia and the one without. I thought I might be worth trying the one with for some additional sweetness. But I find that the stevia adds a weird cooked hay flavor (that probably isn't the best way to describe it but it is the best I can come up with right now.) I don't like it. The one without is fantastic however... add a bit of hazelnut for a great Banana Nut Bread taste. Yum!

I took advice I read in the forum, not sure where or who. They said they mixed the flavor in the silicone top of the 510. So here I go....... ^ 6 drops pg 36mg, 3 drops vg, 1 drop pga, 1 drop capellas french toast. To die for good. My better half (non-smoker) smells butter, cinnamon, bread, honey. As I blew the vapor into his face. What I got......Warm maple butter waffle. Now I mixed it as as miniscule a batch as possible and was just the best experience I have had since I have been doing DIY. I will continue now to do the cart by cart and go from there.

Well, I guess I'll be the dissenting opinion here.

I ordered the Vanilla Custard, Irish Cream, French Toast, Pralines & Cream, and Graham Cracker (on backorder)...

Using 80% unflavored 18mg base (plain nic/PG, VG, and water) and 20% Capella's and dripping 2 drops into a clean atty for each flavor:
  • Vanilla Custard - tastes like Loranns Bavarian Cream with the barest hint of vanilla and, strangely, coconut. The "bavarian cream" flavor is overpowering!
  • Pralines & Cream - burnt pralines
  • Irish Cream - hardly any flavor at all, but what I do taste is nothing like Irish Cream
  • French Toast - see Irish Cream
I was SO hoping these would be as good as I've read, but, sadly, they're just not for me, so I'll be putting them up for sale if anyone's interested.

Twenty percent flavoring is way too much for me using most Capella flavorings. Most of them work at about 10% - some more and some less. I normally start with 5% and work up from there.

Some don't taste like what they are named to me.... but most of them do. (I think NY Cheesecake tastes like popcorn!)

I don't like most LorAnn flavorings. Most of them have a weird background taste that is hard to describe... kind of like sour milk. And many of the others have a chemical taste that I can't seem to get rid of - even at low concentrations.

It is frustrating when you read how something is great and then find that is just isn't for you. I suggest if you don't like one you should sell it or give it away in the Classifieds & Swaps thread rather than throwing them away.

Good luck finding flavors that work for you!

Oh... and HippyGirl... I'm interested! LOL - I really like three of those flavors.

;)

I received my Capella drops. I haven't used them as a primary flavorant yet, but have added them with VG to other premixed juices. I haven't tried all of them yet, as I normally refill my cartomisers over the weekend for the week. The ones I have tried though are very nice. I might go a bit stronger next time, but I can definitely taste whatever I've added and it's a good taste. Will update as I try more flavors and when I get my unflavored juice I'll experiment some more.

I have tried ..

French Toast
Cheese Cake
Pina Colada
Blueberry
Peaches n Cream
Rasberry
Brownie
Vanilla Custard = yuck yuck yuck to me:nah:
Cool Mint
Hot Cinnamon Candy
Grandma's Apple Pie
Prailines n Cream
Toasted Almond
Banana

So far I love all of them but the Vanilla Custard (yuck) it makes me sick to my somache. Its funny when I try other premade juices from other vendors..I can tell when they use vanilla custard.

As far as these flavors go though ..they are very tasty to me. I have a bunch of lorann flavors too but I tend to mix up capella more often.

Try Cheese Cake and Blueberry or Rasberry = yummm
Pina Colada and Banana=yum

To me even toasted almond by itself is great.

I decided to give them a go. It took about a week from the day I ordered for the package to arrive. I ordered Kaluha & cream to flavor up some "meh" coffee juice I bought. It made the juice much tastier. I'll actually use it now. LOL I also picked up vanilla custard and caramel. Both are very tasty! They are especially nice to boost up the sweetness to some RY4 that I bought that was a little weak. I went back and just ordered some peaches & cream and mint. I also picked up some water drops to actually use in water. ROFL
