I've mixed the sweet strawberry at 15%, 0mg nic, 80%pg/20%vg, and it does taste like strawberry, albeit a bit weak. Should I add EM to sweeten it, and up the percentage of flavour? Or add something else?

Thanks,

Tgirl
Humm, I heard the Strawberry was a strong flavor and to mix at 5-8% so you may have mixed it too strong muting the flavor,,,Check back to page 122 of this thread...

The strawberry is very strong I would start at 5% and work it up. In my mixes I like the fruity flavors a little lower like 5-10%.

Thats weird sweet strawberry is not weak. Whats also weird is that SS doesnt get muted until after 25%. It just gets stronger and stronger . You may have a tastebud issue people talk of. I use sweet strawberry by itself at 15% and then 5-10% in mixes. It is more flavorfull in mixes but all flavors are. You can add EM to enhance it or even better ,tart and sour.

Anyone here who has an allergy to PG able to still use this flavoring? Im currently trying to troubleshoot if I have an allergy to PG and wondering if I am screwed using Cap flavorings if I am. I got some straight VG juice on the way to confirm my suspicions.

The only stuff I know for certain I had a reaction to are the flavors with any cinnamon in it (and anything perfumey smelling which doesn't apply to Capella's). I can eat cinnamon in moderation but when I vape it I have reaction. If you are allergic to PG and not a flavoring persay I would say to cut out the PG and use the least amount of flavoring needed and see if you can tolerate that much less PG.

ToweKnee, I just checked your join date, and I would say if you are experiencing any problems, it may be your system detoxifying. When I detoxed, I had depression for two days, a runny nose for a week, insomnia for over a month and almost a year of acne breakouts. Increase your water intake and see if that helps. Take half your body weight, and that's how many ounces of water you need to drink per day to give your system a helping hand while it is detoxing. If you can't drink that much, shoot for 80 ounces.

+1 your probably just going through side effects from quitting the analogs .Those symptoms you have were talked about many times as a side effect which goes away.

Before upping your VG, try this. Exhale a high PG many times onto a mirror, then do the same with a high VG liquid. You will see that the VG leaves an oily coating - not so with PG. Many ppl (like me) have reported chest pains and all-over achiness with VG juices, and it was relieved by going for the PG juice. PG is used in asthma inhalers b/c very few ppl are allergic to it.

When I did some research on PG, I read that very few people are allergic to PG. And you will see that the primary carrier for fluids is PG instead of VG. VG is used to thicken a liquid. For instance, VG is used in cake frostings to give it more body so cake-decorating artists can make the fancy roses and scroll work on cakes. Also, VG is used in liqueurs to give it more body - think Grand Marnier and Amaretto. Liqueurs are of water consistency but VG is added to make it more of a syrup consistency so they can be sipped slower.

Yep, just found my sweet spot at 15% for SS too.

Also found a strawberry/french vanilla combo I really like the taste of. But it's missing something - body? Is that what EM adds? Also, is EM something I can buy locally, or do I have to wait for the mailman again?

Thanks.

P.S. This thread is getting too long to find stuff in earlier posts, so sorry if you've answered this already.

So thinking I should mix a batch of pure PG as well then? Make sense too.

No not pure PG - then you won't have much vapor. Anything like 70/30 PG/VG or 75/25, etc. Try it - if it isn't for you, then you'll know pretty soon. For instance, when I DIY'd all VG w/my other ingredients - but my 50mg nic was in PG base, the flavorings are in PG, but I used all VG to add along w/PGA and water to cut it to the proper consistency.

I knew the next night that high VG was NOT for me - YMMV. I've posted this elsewhere, so excuse me if this is a repeat to you - but anyway, when I went to bed in the evening, I had sharp chest pains - thought it was stress (I don't ever have heartburn or whatever it's called acid something?). I was okay the next day UNTIL I went to bed again that evening when the pain came again so much sharper that I feared a heart attack. I even got up and filled my yorkies' water tank in case I died in my sleep and no one missed me for a few days:lol:

Hurray you got to mix it up!:) Glad you found something you like. Body? IDK what others call it, but I call body the density of my eliquid. Kinda like my hair is thicker and fluffier when I put an extra-body cream rinse on it, lol. I would say EM adds sweetness and definition. But I may be wrong here and may be learning some new (to me) vaping jargon.

1) EM is a solid, right? Does anybody sell a solution?

2) About how much do I need? I mean, should I buy a pound or a couple of ounces?

EM is sold in crystals OR in a solution from TFA. In the solution, it's called Cotton Candy - the regular one, not the Circus Cotton Candy. Definitely buy something larger than that cute little teensy sample vial - you'll be using it often if you like to sweeten a lot of your juices.

Body to me is a rich flavorfull juice . A lot of ejuice has no body which taste like watered down flavor
