The irony is that a flat top would be less machining in the first place ... lol.

Anywhoo .... got my eye on the new Nemesis mod (if I can EVER manage to get one in my cart fast enough). I came real close to buying a 69 mod though. The fact that it has a plastic switch assembly kinda curbs me away from it though.

Chi you by mojo and Astro are a great korean mech mods, simple, elegant, beautiful.
Novice by Chris Creations, simple hybrid dripper.
Zen sidewinder.
Silver Dog v2.
Nzonic v3 recently has lots of good things said about it, and it got silver pins!

Of all above, I would probably take the chi you, unfortunately, they are not mass produced and the waiting list is growing longer everyday.

I really think we're finally getting close to a decent chinese Caravela/Chi-You esque mod. I've been saying it for a while now, they should be there soon and with that picture and also the roller clone they just made it looks like they're FINALLY getting it. I called Sigelei to be the ones. We want a frigging plain tube, bottom button and brass contacts. REALLY NOT THAT HARD!!

I just sent them this email. I doubt it will get to the right hands but I still wanted to try. If enough of you guys and gals out there start sending them similar requests sooner or later they will catch on and realize what we all really want.

"Hello, I would just like to make a note of a few things that literally thousands of vapers are seriously looking for in a mechanical mod. It seems that you guys are closest to the mark, so I just wanted to make a few suggestions for a device that will by far be your most popular and highly bought product. The telescopic #19 has the closest styling to what most people are looking for these days in a mechanical electronic cigarette.

First of all, the plain tube look with the lock and bottom button of the #19 is what most people want these days, but instead of having the beveled top, people want a 22mm diameter device with a flat top and a 510 connector that is flush with the top itself, not sticking out. Also many people would be interested in the same style device but non telescopic in both 18350, 18500 and 18650 size, with the ability to purchase the other tube size. By FAR the devices most people want today are the Caravela and the Chi-You. These two mods are almost impossible to get today because they are made by either 1 man, or by one small shop that can't even come close to keeping up with demand and are extremely expensive either way. The plain look of both are what almost everybody wants today in a mechanical electronic cigarette, yet hardly anybody can lay their hands on one.

I cannot stress enough how popular the first mechanical device you guys make that is a plain tube similar to telescope #19 with the lock and bottom button,

1) that has solid brass contacts that AREN'T chrome plated
2) is 22mm and has a FLAT top cap with a 510 connector that sits flush

you would probably have the highest selling mechanical electronic cigarette in the world. You don't have to take my word for it, look into the Caravela and Chi-You and you will see that the plain styling is what makes them the device more people want than anything, but cannot get. You guys have the perfect chance to fill this void in the market, and I guarantee it will be your highest selling mechanical/telescope device to date. I hope somebody will take my advice to heart, because it is by far more than anything what I and the vast majority of other people interested in mechanical mods are waiting for. There is a hole in the market and I truely hope you guys are going to be the one to fill it."

...

I generally agree... BUT you need to realize since the #19 is a clone of the NZonic... they beveled the top cap, because it is on the NZonic...

I don't think Sigeli knows why or why not to do certain things... they're just cloning products... They'll cut corners where they can... like the connector on the #20 but I don't think they are doing much testing or design work, beyond:

1. make it look like X product

2. make it work

3. cut corners/cost where you can

They also probably do not understand why the majority of vapers would want a flush connector...
Since the majority use cartos/clearos, vivi's.... they need airflow.
I'm sure they're trying to build mass appeal products... unfortunately RBAs aren't popular enough yet, to make Flush connectors the preferred connection for the majority.

Hopefully they will finally get that most people would prefer a flush connector, with "X" slots for airflow, like my GGTS Stealth cap, EA mod, etc. instead of having the slots only on the 510 connector and making it stick up. I dunno, these days as far as those looking for mechanical PV's, I think more and more people are using rebuildables. Most people that use VV mods tend to use standard attys, cartos, clearos, Vivi's, etc. and most people that are getting into mechs use rebuildables, aside from those that get mech mods to kick. If they would make them flat topped with the "X cuts" for airflow, everybody will win! :)

sorry i edited my post as you were posting.

No, I agree... flat top with x cuts is ideal... BUT

Truth is most people DONT want a flush connector... or don't know they do.

Mechs is a small subset of eCigs... in fact, i'd venture a guess that most eCig uses are still on Cig-A-Likes... followed closely by eGo... then VV/VW and then Mechs...

as a result the top selling juice delivery devices are not RBAs... and sigeli is likely building to the most common product.

Even though I think it should be obvious what I'm talking about let me rephrase what I wrote. I was referring to those looking for mech mods. "The majority of those that are looking for a mechanical mod would prefer a flat top with a flush connector and "X" marks for airflow", or heck, why not make an airflow control like a GGTS, Chi-You, etc. (doubt it haha) Obviously people that vape cig-a-likes and don't know anything else about vaping don't care, but we're obviously talking about mech mods here, not cig-a-likes. Not trying to be rude, I'm just pointing it out.

like said before....can't we just get a plain tube, maybe a small engraving, brass contacts, x cut in top cap, and locking bottom button for a decent price? i don't need a mod that someone makes in their basement and then sells them for crazy prices. just something that looks nice

You're at a place in the timeline of the evolution of mechanical mods where those things do exist, but they're exclusive. Remember when a Provari was a rare, sought-after commodity? I remember when Screwdrivers were difficult to obtain and anyone who had one was considered a lucky vaper. The mods you want will reach mass-production status if they remain popular with vapers, but it'll take time.
