I believe the steel wool has something on it that keeps it from rusting. That is why I cleaned it before using it. I left a piece out that I had rinsed in PG. There is no sign of rust at all. I believe the pg is keeping it from rusting. It doesn't seem to be as flammable but it still burns. If you try this just make sure you clean it really well and saturate it with PG before it starts to rust. If you squeeze it while it is wet it really packs up. .

I believe this also. Otherwise when you finally got the steel wool (after shipping) it would be steel rust. And the oil or whatever it is preventing rust is likely combustible. Hence steel burning. PG is serving the same pupose without the flammability. And if you did inhale a bit of burnt steel wool it would be much much less than a welder inhales every day. Besides,you would be getting your iron suppliment. But just my opinion.

PTB,Poly,Steel wool or shamwow lol. Whatever you use for cart filler short of tobacco you are ahead of the game. Hmmm, I may try tobacco
