Thanks for the feedback! I almost think you are partly trolling or kidding around, with the comment about draining a boil in your fiance's leg ;) No Docs in your leg of the woods, CrazyT? :D But seriously, I appreciate your suggestion.

I really am serious...the boil thing is because we dont have med insurance and it needed attention...I have some self learned nursing knowledge as my mom was a RN...I dont know the technical terminology but I know about being sterile and safe. Besides, it worked and hes still alive. I thought I was gonna lose him when I pulled the cap off the needle and it was soooo long that he turned green..lol

Anyway..back on topic..When I went to the feed store (why did I think you were in texas? Sorry..) I asked for a large syringe so I could take some blood from my "horse" and the first size he showed me was...I swear to God it was as hollow as the straw in your pictures and the way you have the end sliced at an angle is the way needles are designed. So that was what I was thinking when you were talking about a metal "straw". I know they can handle the heat cause they're made of surgical steel. It was just a thought : )

Washed out a bunch of 808 carts about a week ago.

I was doing the mad scientist thing trying to refill them.

Filled one with this method using Drews 24mg coffee... KABLAM

Its like a bleach burn out gettin ready for a 1/4 mile run!

I was gonna count the hits but I ran out of fingers, toes and other appendages.

I been chain vapin this puppy for over an hour.

Huffin is happy, very happy.

Bingo... we have bingo

Not that burning rubber is better then burning plastic,... But, did anyone think about using insulation from a wire? You know when you strip wires and you always have those little piece of insulation to clean up? Why not use that for a tiny tube?

I did read a thread somewhere on here, that someone was using the insulation from one of the smaller wire inside a CAT5 cable. They said it worked very well.

Yes, I have been using the tiny wire casing from inside a cat5 cable. Actually Im trying out a double straw method.

I have the batting inside a regular straw so I can easily remove the batting and turn it around when the top goes dry. I am also inserting the tiny wire casing from inside the cat5 cable for air flow.

I also cut down my carts to as low as I can so I can fit 3 510 'cartomizers' in my PCC.

When i get a chance Im going to try to use one of the variations that are out there the the PTB.

nice mod and thanks for the images! is your PCC custom? or did you buy that somewhere? what size e-cig is it made for?

I have the 510 with the stock PPC. I cut down my carts. It started out just pulling off the end piece. I then cut the excess tube as far as i could. Then there was another circle piece that fell out so i cut the excess tube again till the air vents were showing. I ended up cutting so much that when I put the cart in the case it would fall all the way in. I inserted a cart condom into the hole flat side down and there was still enough room to attach my atty to the cart and fit it in the case. Now I can store 3 attys with the modded carts in the stock PCC.

I am now using the frayed PTB mod with the tiny tube in all my modded carts. After the first night things are going well. I know I dont have much room for error becasue I cut them down so much so I make sure that I dont overfill to prevent a mouth full of e-juice.

My only problem now is that when I first got my 510 kit (from Drew at NHaler.com) i also bought 18 cartons of prefilled carts. Not sure what Im going to do. I might try to squeeze the juice out or maybe just use them as is till they are all gone (after im tired of trying to mod every night.) But I am a little of worried of them drying out so I might do something with them sooner than later.

happy vaping

...I will be interested in seeing what else people can come up with as a straw that we can all use.

Okay everybody, here's an idea...the straw does work good and I did try cutting a q-tip and using the plastic piece as a straw. However, while it didn't melt, it did provide a funny "placticy" taste to the whole project, so..., I went to the bead shop and found "tube beads" of varying lengths and materials--specifically, metal (stainless steel or sterling silver is probably best) and glass. But if you try this, be sure to get the non-painted ones--sometimes the glass tube beads are painted on the inside with a silver (or other) color that's kinda hard to see-- you would almost think it wasn't painted at all, so you might need to ask...then you can just file down the one end at an angle with a small metal file (the kind that is often in a pocket knife) or an emery board nail file. And by the way...the pyramid tea bag mod works good too--I think I'll try combining both this and the straw idea and see what I come up with.

I have continued to use the little cocktail stirrer straws (just about any liquor store carries them) for some time with no issues. I would like to add that I have changed how I do this a bit. I put in the straw first, to the side, and then roll up the polyfill tip with my fingers and slide it down into the cart while holding it compressed with my fingertips. It seems to be a lot faster and easier that way. And I use this for 510 and 901 carts. I won't even use a cart without the straw mod anymore, there is that much difference. And of course I still am using paperclips - I keep one in my little on-the-go case at all times. I use it to pull out polyfill from a cart, to re-fluff the top of used polyfill in a cart, to rake the straw out of a cart, etc.
