Please enlighten us about the "pyramid tea bags" Shaolin Monkey.

It is probably posted someplace else and I've missed it - you have me so curious now.

Be well,

It's here, Angelique: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/34401-ptb-plug-full-510-cart.html

Long read, and a number of different versions. rhoneil posted some great video tutorials. I was using the two minute double folded, rolled, frayed version. (Look towards the end of the thread.)

Thanks BlondieLocs.

I don't know about the cart mod yet, as I haven't had a chance to try it. But in anticipation of my e-cig arriving I went out and bought some pyramid tea. I'm having a cup of the white tea with blueberry and pomagranate - and it is YUMMY!!!!

I have been using the PTB mod - rho style with a bit of a twist. Works great.

Playing with a new mod today. Will post results along with my comprehensive :p review later tonight hopefully. (server willing)

I would love to know exactly what you are doing in order to vape with a tea bag on the sidesho. I am getting Pyramid Tea Bags tomorrow so I haven't used them yet, but I have attempted with multiple other tea bags and the result was abysmal. It didn't vape poorly, it just didn't vape no matter what I did. I would usually get a mouth full of juice but no vapor or hit. I am thinking that I am doing something very wrong with this mod. Most people who do videos on mods are using the 510 so I'm not sure if there are changes needed for it to work on the sidesho. For instance I am not sure if I should keep the little white cap inside the cart and have the tea bag slide into it or I should remove the white cap and just use the tea bag going straight into the empty cart. I have tried both methods with zero success.
I am going to try the rho method tomorrow when I get the pyramid tea bags but I noticed you said "with a twist" so I'm hoping you could shed some light on what that is.
I am very inexperienced and I don't even think that I'm doing my standard cartridge refills correctly since I can only get about 5 good hits from my refills before the vapor production and throat hit takes a large dive after that.
I know the sidesho can vape like a champion because the pre filled carts that came with it really gave me great throats hit and wonderful vapor production so I know I am the problem because I am inexperienced.

I'd love to hear how you do the PTB mod. I've noticed at the bottom of these carts there is a little separator that makes two separate compartments, so to speak, at the bottom of the cartridge.

I've been doing rho's PTB mod, folded on top, not zigzagged, with one cut to fray the ends, then I place it in there so that each side of the frayed ends land in one of the separators.

I noticed with the filler that the carts come with, when I drop juice right on top, it never makes it to the compartments, but with the PTB, it does, thats why I make sure the frayed ends land inside the compartments.

What do you do?

Shaolin Mokney,

Can you describe how you do the PTB mod on the sidesho's cart? I haven't been able to perfect it yet. I'm getting very mixed results when I do it right, it works PERFECTLY, but sometimes, it just doesn't work at all.

I think it might have to do with me doing the fold at the top that rho was doing to keep it from leaking in a 510, that might be unnecessary, and causing the bridge less contact.

edit//

I just setup another cart without the fold at the top, and its hitting like a champ. I got a little juice in my mouth at first, but I expected it, I knew I over filled it.

Just took a bunch of Blu cars out and chopped them down so the Sidesho atty would reach the bucket inside. I cut off exactly the same length as the colored part of the Sidesho atty. Now my cut down carts fit in the PCC with attys on them! I know it's lacking the reservoir the Sidesho carts have, but I can now fill my PCC with carts ready to go. For me the convienence of having four more atomizers in the pack outweighs the the small amount of extra juice I can put in a cartridge. Hopefully MV will just come out with a slightly larger PCC to accommodate more atomizers soon.

I have tried the rho ptb method. I cut one slit in the end that goes in the inner cart first, and put one side on either side of that little plastic bridge. FYI, this is my first experiment with this or any cart mod. I am having trouble getting the filler to let go of the fluid. I don't know if my juice is too thick, or if I folded my ptb too short. It was flush with the end at first, but then it pushed back, and doesn't bounce back when I remove the cart from the atomizer. My juice is VG with 20% H2O. Is it possible that its too thick. I don't get many drags before it seems the atomizer is dry. If I put it down and come back to it, it does a little better. Still not great. I'm getting so irritated that I'm considering dripping, but I drive a lot for my job and dripping seems a little hazardous. How many drags do you get from three drips? Any advice would be great!

I was having the same trouble you are and firstly I would recommend trying a thinner juice. After an experience I had today, I realized that sometimes its true that juice can make or break you. My original juice was on the thick side and I noticed that I couldn't get more than 4 or 5 drags before it needed topping off. To be honest I haven't tried the PTB mod with my new juice because like you, I thought about dripping because I felt I wasn't doing the mod correctly, and experimented with a spare battery and atomizer. I did everything though. I made the PTB mod shorter, I made it longer, I frayed it, I kept it unfrayed, I rolled it up at least 5 different ways, I made it a tight fit, I made it a loose fit, and nothing seemed to do it for me. However the one thing that remained the same in all my PTB mods was the juice. I cut the juice with 50 percent VG for more vapor and that was the only change to the juice I made. So that may have been the culprit all along.
If you do try different juice or other advice and it still doesn't seem right for ya, get a spare battery and atomizer and try dripping. I have to tell ya, even with my crappy juice the Sidesho vaped like a master, however I was getting a burning type of after taste and not a lot of flavor from my juice. Now I realize that my juice was the issue. I just got in some new juice today from another vendor and dripped it on the atomizer, and hoooo boy was it tasty. Draw was smooth and vapor was amazing. I realize that my Sidesho was just doing what it could with the bad juice I was using, and now that it has some quality juice, its so good I can't even describe it. The Sidesho is performing amazing. And I did notice that this new juice is thinner.
When dripping, I get about 10 to 15 nice smooth great draws. Way more than I was getting from my filled carts that I spent hours modifying. However I never tried this new juice I got on the PTB carts so I would start there if I were you. If filling carts with new juice solves the problem or someone elses advice works then you are set.
But if that doesn't satisfy you, trust me friend, drip one time on the Sidesho and you will be in heaven. Kind of think of dripping at the trump card. If everything else doesn't work out for you or you just don't like refilling carts, try a drip.

Hey Furius!
Thanks so much for the info. I tried using a bit more of the ptb to make the filler, and I seemed to have better results. Do you mind pming me with who you got your juice from? I can't use the PG, which is a real bummer, because I have several prefilled carts I'd love to try. I may yet go to dripping though. My free time is limited and all this experimenting is putting me behind on some other responsibilities. Responsibilities suck!!! Thanks again!

The FluVal works well and the little "seperation" at the very bottom ofthe Sidesho cart is almost like a straw mod... so when you put a new piece of Fluval in that seperation keeps juice without anything blocking that pocket and then of course allows it to wick upwards... Only thing is w/ that seperation- I sometimes see juice gets "caught" down there- Not everytime so I am not sure if a vacuum is created of sorts and that small bit stays or what? Good method though is the FluVal- I haven't tried PTB's yet...
Oh! The filler that came w/ the cart also lasts quite awhile if rinsed well and w/ care taken not to tear the filler apart... I think I refilled one cart 15 times or so before the filler was getting too compacted (In My Opinion)-

I stopped doing the PTB mod rho style and did a pretty plain frayed way. It has worked MUCH better. I believe (based on his videos) the only reason rho added the fold at the top was to keep from leaking, but besides the times I get some in my mouth from overfilling and not blowing out my atomizer, I've never leaked.

With a dry PTB I get about 15-17 drops in a cart. When refilling I fit about 12-13 drops and it seems much dryer then with the fold on top.

Just wanted to give my two cents. I've been doing it for about a week and a half now and love it.

Hello,

I'm curious to know if the plug mods like ZFM or SFY or the straw mods will work with the sidesho carts.

It seems the air flow on a 510 cart comes through these little vents outside of the inner chamber of the cartridge. But the airflow vent on a sidesho cart is inside the cart in the same chamber as the inner-cart that holds the juice.

Wouldn't this make a plug mod impossible since a plug would prevent airflow?
