@hazozita, Well that's good to know. My worry was that as it dulled, it would flatten the carto out more. Seems like yours is hanging in there!
When you think about how much more a prepunched carto costs and how cheap these piercing valves are, we are probably recouping the cost of the valve after 5-10 cartos.

Absolutely in terms of cost recoup! However, have you noticed how much the prices have gone up? I got mine off of eBay a while back for about $4 shipped. Looked last week to get a second one to give to a friend, and couldn’t find one shipped for less than $10. Lowes and Home Depot don’t carry them in my area. I guess the word is out that they do more than tap HVAC lines!

Great thread! I just ordered the Supco BPV31 for $5.88 shipped. After I ordered and checked the link to post in here, the price dropped a penny! Thanks for the info, everyone. This is my first try with carto's and I bought 15 unpunched Smoktech 1.7 ohm "Resurrectors" from CCV to try them out and love them enough to start shopping for a tank. Woot!
