I don't always like carrying my evic around because of the size, so yesterday I decided to just throw my carto tank on my mech with a brand new 18490 efest. After trying to fire it twice I realized things were getting hot within seconds so I opened the battery compartment and nearly burned my hand taking out the battery.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing? I tried the same carto on my ego and it wouldn't fire there either. My mech still works just fine with my rba and protank

Sounds like a bad carto. There are two wires that make up the coil. One goes to ground and one goes to the positive pole. If the ground and hot ever touch each other, you have a dead short. I would toss that carto before you fry something.

Yeah makes sense now, good thing I have 5 new cartos on its way!

Yep, that carto's done. Glad you didn't get hurt or anything though.

Seriously! It all happened within seconds, glad I reacted fast

Nope :( wont charge or fire anymore, good thing I still have my other two 18650's to use till I get a couple new smaller batteries
