I do have bigger sample tubes that I'm toying with right now. But I'm just not thrilled with them. I want a 22mm size (roughly 7/8" ) but everything is 25-28mm (slightly bigger than 1" ) So I have to decide where to size it.

Sent from my Samsung S-II SR from Tapatalk.

I want that same size Cuse, and have found the same thing as you with varied results, as for that 7/8" purrrrrrfect !!!

So if say I buy the VPX Cartomator Cartomizer Stainless Steel Tanks Mini size, will I be able to upgrade it buy simply replacing the tube with an XL tube at a later date? Thus, will the tubes be available for purchase rather than buying another full tank again?

I'm concerned about cracking with the tubes as I mostly vape mint or menthol flavors. Hope this clarifies things.

Thanks.

I'll step in and answer to the best of my understanding until CG pops in...

The polycarbonate tubing has a variance in the sizing of the interior diameter so he pretty much has to cut them and then using two different sizes of o-rings, fit them to the various caps. So right now he is working on how make sure if and when he offers tubing (tanks) separately, that they will fit everybody's caps. Probably by offering the different size o-rings with them to fit yourself. That's my understanding, and that it is being worked on.

Drew and I are working on a new sales model with the tanks. The options have just grown too long and are still growing. This creates a nightmare on the retail side. So around the first of the year, we are going to change it up a little bit. Part of that will be that the tubes, some specialty caps, SS Tubes and assorted parts like o-rings will all be available separately.
Siouxsie is right on the variance issue. But 2 sets of o-rings with each tube is the workable solution right now.

Unless I missed something too, you wouldn't be able to unless you popped off the top cap. The problem I see with steel tanks is that any window you put in would either defeat the purpose of a steel tank (cracks and such) or, if the window were some sort of glass it would require glue or a design which would bulk up the diameter. Always a trade off.

In general, thorn, users who like SS tanks don't care too much about seeing their juice level, I think that preference is mostly aesthetic for most of them. TBH, now that I've been using them for a while I pretty much know how long a full tank will last me so don't really have much need to see my level, but I still do prefer the poly tanks just for the look of them. It just happens to be what suits my tastes.

Good points about the hidden eliquid levels, thanks!

I am not completely familiar with that flavor or ingredient , but would be inclined to think that it has a high concentration of SOMETHINg that may be corrosive. I would definately not use that flavor in tanks for the time being. Perhaps you could contact Rawr and see what the ingredients are. I know that the Koolada ingredient from TPA is delivered in metal bottles because it is corrosive in some concentrations...Please let us know if you can get any answers as we should probably make a note on the site about this. Thanks,
Drew

Has the corrosive brand/ingredient been identified yet? I don't see any mention of it at all on the site yet. I want to know what to warn friends about if I get them tanks as presents.

We don't really have any answers. In my opinion, actually, there was no corrosion at all taking place. I suspect the juice was simply pulling the pigment out of the tube for whatever reason. It was a one-time incident for me, the tube clearly has a lighter coloration in the juice area, and nothing since has come out with any kind of coloration, and I'm 10 or so runs through now.

The response I got from a very polite inquiry to the vendor was that the juice contained VG, apple flavor, strawberry flavor, nicotine and menthol drops only, roughly what I had expected to hear. I may try another tank of it in the near future and see if the discoloration occurs again, but I'm not expecting it to.

That is still scary to have ink mixed into the juice. Did you happen to clean your tank right before that refill to where maybe the cleaning product had something to do with it?

I have run some testing in the last week and tried to make the tubes do the same thing that yours did Vega. Mainly by soaking them in some harsh juices like AC, citrus based and straight menthols along with some other strong household liquids. After 3-4 days of soaking, I did manage to destroy/melt a few tubes out of 16 sample tubes (2 of each color) but none ended up leaching any color at all.
I think it had to be just a fluke thing imho.

First look at the upcoming Beveled or "Slant" Cap option. Other than strpr's original of course! Not sure if it will be sold per cap or actually on an assembled tank or both yet. Since some just want a top cap and some want both beveled.
