So far - the reliability of atomiser heads for the Liberty-Flights Vivi-Nova tank don't seem any better than Vapourlites disposable cartomisers!!!

The one that came fitted lasted a week (they claim 2 - 3 weeks "depending on use"). Out of 3 replacements I bought - one only lasted a few days, and one only lasted a day!!!

Last night I had a crack at rewinding one of the duds, it was actually quite easy, but I used whatever resistance wire I had in the junk box, which was thinner than the original. The vapour is slightly less dense than from an original atomiser (when they work) and so far its lasted most of today.

Is there a UK supplier I can get the right thickness resistance wire (0.15mm) and a reel of that heat proof wick 'string'?

Thanks for any help.

I cannot help with the UK supplier part, but I may be able to help with the life of the coil heads part. Your liquid will have *A LOT* to do with the life of your coils. If you are using dark and or sweet e liquid you will toast coils every few days. The more dark or sugary (dark and sugary is like instant coil death) an ejuice the more it builds up rapidly on your coils.

Using clear, or very light golden (think apple juice or pale ale) liquids will greatly improve their life. If you use a light juice that darkens in your nova - then the sweetener is the culprit. You can find the same flavor from different vendors that may perform a bit better.

Another way to prolong coil life is to rinse with hot water every few days, soak in vodka or pure grain alcohol overnight once the performance drops, also you can rinse with hot water and dry burn to remove some of the build up and restore some function to it.

I think what you're looking for is 34 gage (.16mm) kanthal or nichrome wire and silica wick.
Try ebay or check the UK forum for a supplier.

Having tried various cleaning methods (including caustic soda) I think I'll stick with rewinding.

The one I wound last night actually seems to be improving with use - be interesting to see how many days it lasts.
