Over the last month I have had the following happen not once but 3 times.
SO i check my cartomizers pretty well before I put them in my tanks. I check for draw, straightness of inner tuber, I fill the carto before adding it to the tank and check the ohms etc.
3 times this month i have been enjoying my favorite juice.. right now its some offerings from Highbrow... anyway I test the ohms of my cart and do all the stuff I do before getting my tank ready. I start vaping on my ProVari and in about a hour I get my e1 error. I check the ohms and it goes from 3ish down to 2.2ish so I adjust the voltage because "hey its not a perfect world" I'll vape at lower volts i just dont want to lose 6ml of ejuice again! so i do so .. then I get another e1.. i check again and again i lost ohms. So i throw the tank on my lava tube so it will take care of it for me.. just to get any more life out of my new carto and large amount of juice. Its all working fine .. I smoked each for half a day and put them back on my provari and ... pow it works fine at 3ohms again for the rest of the carto's life .. even up to 18ml of juice .. never a problem again.
So i start thinking a lot about the supernatural and the paranormal, about hauntings and ghost practical jokers.
My only theory is that maybe i didnt have enough juice in the carto for the prime and after a while of fiddling the filtering element became saturated. I really do not think that is it because I am fairly ocd about my method. I put 45 drops in my carto that holds 55.. and draw hard 3 times without power.. never a problem before.
Here is the kicker .. this didn't just happen with one kind of carto but with 2 different brands .. smoktek 3ohm (2) and boge 3ohm (1)..
any ideas ... please !?!

No ones has commented on this... I've read it a few times and frankly I'm stumped. :) I have seen others mention how certain combos won't work on the provari but I don't have one to know what it could be if there is something wrong there. You might check with provari to see if anyone else has reported something similar.

One thing that can occur is the contact of center posts - sometimes someone (me included) will crank down on a carto or atty a bit too tight on one batt connection to where if another batt is a bit out of spec, that it isn't making contact OR that perhaps the only 'contact' is the ejuice between the two connections - some vape some don't. One usually has to take a dental pic (or if the center post is adjustable/slotted, then extend it in that manner. And it could be the carto/atty Or the batt.

This one is tough. It sounds like there may be an issue with the Provari brains, but it sounds transient at this point. Of course, keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, contact the vendor. Also make sure that the connection region of the Provari/carto is clean of stray juice. This can affect the resistance, although it should raise, not lower, it.

There may be a connection issue as well. Make sure the center post of the carto (center of the thread end) is protruding by maybe .3-.5 mm (barely sticking out). Some connectors on batteries or mods have a center post that pushes the carto centerpost up so it is flush with the outer threads. This can either kill the connection entirely, or make the connection intermittent, and the Provari might be having a problem with this. To make the carto center post stick out a bit if it is flush, stick a pin into the small air hole above the carto threading, and pry the centerpost downward. Then do the same with the opposite side's hole, back and forth until the centerpost is sticking out a bit. This technique has been referred to as the "centerpost slide", which fixes the connection with some KGO and Riva batteries. People have thought that their cartos just died suddenly, but did not reflect this when resistance was measured as correct. Sometimes in this situation you cannot screw the carto into the connector hard and tight, but just until it is barely tight.

I am leaning towards some internal electronic component of the Provari is starting to fail, but these other suggestions are always things to think about.

Good luck!
