It has been a milestone for me this month. 6 months off of butts. I started with the 808 and have tried the 901 and 510 atties in many configurations, volts, resistances etc.. in my quest for the best set-up. After reading here about the 'socked' carto i decided to give it a try. I think it has been the balls. I have not had any problems ripping the filler out of either a coolcart or a turbo while leaving the inner sock intact. I occasionally get some leakage and that ususally coincides with a little gurgling. I keep the carto upside when I can. I connect a metal drip tip which I believe makes it easier and acts as a heat sink too. Pulled the wick out of one the other day and it wasn't burnt, just darkened from the juice. I like this set-up and have been using it as an exclusive all-day vaping apparatus. I would be intersted to hear from others who also use this set-up. It seems a lot cheaper and easier than buying atomizers and dripping. Your thoughts?

I drip from a small 3ml bottle. I was hoping there would be more people vaping this way because they are really missing out on what seems to be a great set-up. The flavor is good, the vapor is good. Reliability compared to atomizers seems to be equal if not better. I pull the stuffing out of an unused carto and vape them. I don't vape with the filler anymore, but had blanks kicking around. I had hope for the 2nd edition cartos but I guess that fizzled.

Well, I think you should go to the ECF Library Section and read Quasimod's Dripping Guide, which conveys a full introduction to the dripping agenda. There are threads which further on it.
In this case, we are dealing with a very specific dripping mod; basically consists of modifying a carto by gently removing the filler as to end up with a dripping 'improvised' atty. You should leave the 'sock' which covers the center-tube, as it shall act as the wicking element. The amount of drops you can drip is from 2-5, on average; getting around 5 good puffs for each drop. Though you should be carefull and check that your carto doesnt leak. There is a natural (rather quick) learning process to it. For the most part, in my experience, an 808 carto is the best when it comes to this mod.
You should check the instructive video about this Carto as a Vertical Atty Dripping mod by Dogsbody in the tricks and tips section, if I am not mistaken...
