Hi guys. Question: How much will the brand of cartomizer affect my vaping experience? I just started vaping about a week ago and I'm using a halo g6. I love the sleek look of the g6 cartos but I've seen bulk blank cartos for less than a dollar a piece and the blank g6s are $8 for 5. If there will be a considerable drop in performance then I will stick with the halo ones but if can save the $$$ I will. Thanks guys!

No way to tell. Some can lower your vaping experience a lot. I personally think SLB cartos suck. They are good for one fill then are awful. I don't like inner seals, I don't like cartos with no defined center air channel. And then there are the ohms. Do you know what ohms your current cartos are or the ohms of the ones you are looking at? Then there are the ones with no groove cut across the pole of the carto to let air get to the air intake in the bottom of the carto. I don't like those either. The airflow is bad. I was not even happy with the Boge KR8's - not warm enough, though I was using the 3 ohms ones and plan to try the 2.7ohm instead. I usually vape 2.5 ohm, soft cap, defined center air channel- Vapor4Life WOW cartos or L-Rider 2.5 cartos.

Did you check the prices of SmokelessImage cartomizers or Bloogplanet? (same model as G6). Or Vapor4Life cartos (but Vapor4Life shipping is high so sign up for their mailings so you will receive their sale notices)?

Depends on a number of factors, the design of the carto and the ohm rating most of all. The G6, Bloog and Volt systems all use the same design I think I've read there is some ohm different between them.

They are designed very well with the horizontal coil and last a long time through alot of refills. Unless you're not happy with the performance I'd suggest staying with them. $8 for a pack of 5 is about average price and really not bad at all considering how long they last. If you do try something else make sure it's fairly high ohms, no LR on these batteries or you'll stress them to much. I wouldn't recommend going below 2.5 ohm and that's pushing it.

Re cartos - one carto can last a long time. For most of my vaping I use 2 main cartos - one Boge on my 510 and one Vapor4Life WOW carto on my KR808D-1 (Volt, Vapor4Life). Using each 1/2 the time, I can often get 2 weeks use out of the KR8 carto (which runs hotter) and 3 weeks out of the Boge 510. I use thin light clear juices. 20% or less VG juices that leave little or no flavoring sediment to clog the carto (typically light colored juices).

Then I have a few cartos of other flavors I occasionally vape so these can last months. Only juices I love get cartos. I use an atomizer and a drip tip on a manual battery to test new juices. And I sometimes use that setup at home to vape juices that didn't quite earn a carto and ones that are thicker than I will put in cartos. On a manual KR808D-1 you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip (see LiteCigUSA.net - and I use those same plastic and delrin drip tips as mouthpieces in hotter cartos or just because they are a comfortable tip with a wider stream of vapor).

Also you may be interested in attempting to clean and dry your cartos to get more use out of them. I don't bother. Too much work and wasted water for a $2 carto. Some people succeed at cleaning and drying them.

After thinking about it I'm definitely going to stick with the halo cartos. If they last as long as you say then the 7 that came with my kit should last me for a while. I do appreciate the atomizer/drip tip suggestion. That would allow me to purchase a bunch of sample juices without having to commit a carto to a flavor I may not like. Thanks for the info!

Said dormouse,

But if you favor Echo-E's, as I do, they're well worth cleaning since they're around five bucks a pop!

I have a huge syringe that looks like it could be used for drawing body fluids during an autopsy. I attach the cartos to the syringe via a piece of plastic tubing, then draw hot water through them, in and out, about ten times. It's amazing how much gradoo darkens the hot water! I blow them out, use the same procedure with 91% isopropyl alcohol several times, then let them dry for a week. They turn out as good as new. So far, I have yet to pitch an Echo-E.

I used to use isopropyl alcohol in an ultrasonic cleaner on them, but that chips off the paint on the body of the cartomizer.

The best advice I could give Anyone about e-Cigs is if it works for you, don't worry about spending a few bucks more a month.

Cartos and E-Liquid is cheaper than analogs so your saving money any way you slice it.
