Don't worry, you won't waste juice you will just end up vaping it! Just rotate the carto when adding juice and give it time to saturate into the filler myterial! As soon as the carto changes flavor, add juice! If you waite to long to fill the carto, you will burn it and that awful taste will not go away! That being said...the first time you notice a slight burnt taste, fill that carto up with about 15-20 drops! When a carto is new, use 20-25 drops for standard size cartos!

Also, I don't know what kind of device your using, but eventually consider a tank if you have a larger battery mod! This way you never have to worry when to refill a carto! Madvapes.com also has great prices on juice about 9 bucks for 50ml, so you will not feel so bad burning through juice. Hopes this helps!

A cartomizer is simply a single unit with filler inside that feeds juice to the coil.

A cartomizer tank is basically a plastic shell that has grommets on either end. A cartomizer fits snuggly into the grommets and the tank is filled up with 3-6ml of juice. Holes are punche near the bottom of the cartomizer so the juice feeds in. Cartomizers in tanks are always kept wet an last typically 3 times as long as normal. When you find a juice you love enough to marry, buy a carto tank. Mad Vapes sells good carto tanks for cheap. Not to be confused with atty tanks, which are not that great.

Clearomizers are simply cartomizers with a clear plastic instead of metal. Some have filler in them. Others simply have wicks (called Ce 2....3....4...etc)that sit in the juice and feed juice to the coil.

i was curious whats the difference between a tank, cartomizer and a clearomizer? and what would be good to run on my set up? Riva SE 1.7ohm (single coil-thinking of stepping up to 2 ohms when i get more cash)-how would they help me better? or worse? sorry if i worded this badly lol

Hi bic

A tank is a container that is filled with with e-juice . The cartomizer sits in the center and is kept full of juice thru a hole (or holes ) in its side. Cartomizers tend to last longer when in a tank. Also you go far longer between refilling then tank as they hold much more juice.

A cartimizer is a tube that is filled with a plastic polyfill material (most times) ,this holds the juice. A tube of wicking material runs down the center and a resistance coil either run vertically down the tube or sits horizontally near the bottom.

A clearomizer is a tank without the plastic polyfill. Instead there are strands of wick that transfer the juice to the resistance coil.

The tank cartomizers should last you all day, if not a day and a half (It really depends on how much you vape). Most tanks hold in the general neighborhood of 3.5-6ml. It takes a ml to fill up your cartomizer once and that generally lasts you about an hour, and after that it takes about a third of a ml to top off the cartomizer. The tank is just to cut down on you re-topping off your cartomizers, so you only have to do it once, instead of 5 times. I find the most juice you ever lose is when you top off, and blow a couple drops out the end. I highly reccomend you get a syringe to avoid juice waste. Topping off doesn't waste juice, you don't save any juice from vaping till a cartridge is empty.

That's like saying you put less gas in your car, if you wait till it's empty and filling it to full, instead of topping off your gas regularly. Also like a car, your CARtomizer will run much better if you top it off on the regular, rather then running it on fumes all the time.

The benifit of a tank, is while if you keep vaping a carto dry, that transition from moist to dry is what's gunna kill your cartos ability to hold liquid well. If you use a tank, the idea is it remains the same level of moist and reduces wear and tear, saving you money. Don't be stingy with topping off, you're not wasting juice, your just not wasting money by potentially ruinning a cartomizer.

So to top off:

-Get a syringe, it will really help with the minimization of juice waste. Either it goes in the carto, or it stays in the needle for future use.

-Tanks help prolong the life of your carto and reduces the hassle of constantly re-filling and potentially wasting juice...

-I generally have 1 or two tanks for flavours I have a lot of, and don't mind vaping. To change a flavour in a tank, you have to take the juice out, take the carto out, wash the excess juice out, put another carto in and refill with juice. Generally a tank is used for a juice you can commit too.

Right off the bat though, the cheapest and best thing you can do is get a syringe...blunt tip of course...:)

Bic,

What kind of tank are you looking for? I've got several of the Smoktech Dual Coil slim tanks that I got from Madvapes and I love them. HOWEVER, I personally do not recommend a tank for a standard 510 or ego style battery. You can get the 1.6 ohm or 1.7 ohm carts and they'll work with that battery but to really get the most out of a tank, I recommend getting a good 5v mod or even better yet a VV mod like the Buzz pro.

unsure mac, im just trying to get info on the whole deal to begin with and maybe figure it out from there, but i was told to pick up some 2.0 ohm cartos that would work with what i got right now and i guess there better then the 1.7 ohms i got right now, im going to do that when i get paid. really i was just curious about what it was and how it worked and what would be best for what i have right now because i cant buy anything super expensive for a bit of time, just trying to get the best out of what i got right now :)

If your battery is 3.7v, then I'd recommend the 1.7ohm or even the 1.5ohm (They're probably the same but who knows) They are available from hoosierecigsupply.com for $1.99 each. I know what you mean about buying stuff. I too am on a tight budget, and only buy a little at a time, but over the last 2 years, I've accumulated quite a bit of stuff. I've got 2 Buzz classics and I love them, saving up for a Buzz Pro, but I can't really justify it because the classics really fit the bill. I went to a tank and I'll never go back to atty's. I HATED cartos when I first tried them about a year ago. They just didn't work for me, but with the tank, they're great. If you do go tank, go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a saddle valve from the plumbing section. Double punch your cartos. I've discovered that the stock holes that they put in them are inadequate for anything but pure VG, and even then they clog up. Don't be afraid to top off your cart even if using the tank, cause keeping them wet is the best way to keep them alive. Good luck!
