I am having this problem too. The first three that I refilled has awesome flavor but very little vapor and the carto was heating up just fine. I did a search on the forum and found some good ways to clean them out. So I did that and I am letting them dry. I am going to juice them up tomorrow and see if it worked. Actually I will juice one up and try it before I waste any more of my precious juice in cartos that won't work!

Everybody knows a fresh cart is awesome, but when I refill a cart, it's not awesome anymore. Am I doing something wrong or is this just the nature of the beast?

You just have to refill it with awesome for it to be awesome again. Really depends on what flavors your refilling with & what the original flavor was. If your trying the same flavor to refill, yeah its not going be like fresh cart. And keep in mind too that the more you vape on each cart the more its drying up, if u wanna keep them alive try just dripping some extra drops from time to time. some people cycle out their cartomizers.

Trick is to not vape them completely dry. Also, if you flood the carts they have a tendency to take a while to really get goin. I have had great success with most of my carts and have gotten at least 6-7 refills out of each. Closer to 20 on some:D Most times I refill, the taste is very close to a freshy and I still get that sizzle. Keep working on it, you'll get it. Like I said, the key is to not vape them completely dry. Burning the cart even slightly kills the flavor IMHO.

I found the same problem. Just today I was about to give up on my last 5 cartomizers as they just were not taking any more than 10 drops anymore, were not producing much vapor, etc. Then I just thought what the heck I'm gonna try rinsing these out.

Took them to the sink, ran warm water through them. Blew them out, and repeated that process about 20 times a piece. Man they are pristine white inside now just using warm water!! Blowing them out well they were pretty much dry also - so one of them I just went straight back to the desk and filled it.

That thing took **28** drops of juice!!! and it still was not overflowing at all. just starting to show moisture on all sides. So I put the final drop on the opposite side. Gave it a good shake down, put the tops back on and screwed it down on a fresh battery.

About 5 puffs later - this thing is like a brand new cartomizer! :D

So I have refilled all of them and they all work pretty close to new or just as good. Me likey!

Hope that helps some,
- Hap

My 2 cents....let them sit a couple days before using them again. When I tried to refill, they were...just ok. After letting them sit a couple days, it was almost like using a brand new cart.

I don't know about "a couple of days" but think about it for a minute. The new carts weren't just filled. It seems to me that I get better results letting them age for a day.

What I have found to work the best is, after filling, and just before screwing on a battery, is to gently blow them out(into a rag) from the mouthpiece end. This will get any juice that is directly on(soaking) the heating element cleared. They seem to work perfect after that(after about 5 puffs). I was also having trouble even when only putting 10 drops or so. After blowing them out a little, no trouble at all.

Wow, thanks! I've just tried this method, and as soon as I'm done with my coffee carto, I'm going to see how this one works. I was able to get 29 drops in without any signs of flooding. I'll report back! :)

I am going to try that too but as others have pointed out the main thing is to not let them get dry. I am rotating between 5 carts and I refill them about every other day whether they need it or not. I am having great success...it is an art though..lol. :)

Just tried the rinse and fill method, got 32 drops into the cart(wow) without seeming overfilled, and it is giving a great throat hit. Vapor production is a little low, but I expect it to pick up some as it dries up a little(but dont really care considering how strong the throat hit is).

edit: 5-10 drags later and vapor production is back to normal.
I tested this on battery only, passthrough would have probably sped up the process.
