OK, been away for a while and I'm trying some new things. Been using my trusty 801's and VK's for a while with what I believe is a generic 401 every now and then and they're on their last legs. Just ordered a few supplies from V4L since I know what to expect with the VK line, but I'm also looking to try one of the Rivas, since I tend to chain-vape for hours at my computer and end up swapping batteries several times a day. For some reason, both the 801 and VK pass-throughs seem to fall far short of regular batteries for vapor & throat hit for me (last year's models. New ones could be better.)

The Riva I'm looking at is for the 510 with an adapter for the 801 attys, but I'm unfamiliar with the 510. Seems that it can be used with either cartomizers or an atty, is this correct? I tend to prefer cartomizers when I'm out of the house or driving, but I usually use carts at my computer as I can top them off and use them immediately.

Sorry for the mini-novel. My questions are: Does the 510 assembly work with both cartomizers and attys, and which one would be better suited for continued use for hours at a time?

Assuming that you find you like the 510 atomizer (as most vapers do), the eGO-compatible Riva will power it well: whether 510 attys or cartos ... or the new large eGO atomizers/cartridges and cartomizers. Those much larger eGO attys/carts/cartos are "better suited for continued use for hours at a time" than regular 510 attys or cartomizers.

However, I don't necessarily recommend the Riva for use with your 801, especially for the purpose of increasing vapor and throat hit. The Riva will function with the 801 using an adapter. But it is 3.4V; you are used to feeding your 801 atty 3.7V.

I happen to have a very similar setup: using my 801 atomizer (among other models) on my ~3.4V Elegant Easy (essentially a Riva with a Kr8/901 fitting). It is a very smooth vape that I enjoy in the mornings, but it produces less TH than when I use the same attys on my 3.7V Kr8 batteries (or on a 3.7V mod).
