Welcome to ECF!!

Carts are used with 3 part PV's (batt, atty, cart) and have just a mouth piece and the filler material you load up with juice.

Cartos are used with 2 part PV's (batt, carto) and have the mouth piece, filler AND atty all in one. Pretty nice and convenient when you don't want to fuss with refilling and/or topping off.

Really a matter of taste/style IMHO. I've been a 801/cart user for over a year now and just tried the TW 510 Mega Cartos and have been pretty impressed. Now I'm still learning and goofing up the refilling trick with these as it is a pretty small hole to work with and I don't have a syringe to help but otherwise, it's a pretty nice change.

Hope this helps. Search/read/search/read here and wait a few more minutes for oh.....5-10 more responses :D

Thanks, and glad to be here. :)
Any particular suppliers I should look into?
I am currently vaping an Ego. I do like it, just tired of having to refill those cartidges frequently and pulling apart polyfill.
I am also wanting to look into different eliquids. Using the liquid that a friend gave me, it has given me numbing headaches. Not sure what this stuff is made of.

Really near the mexican border.
Just about anyone that sells 510 batteries, will also sell the cartos. Not the mega cartos but the regular ones. I personally like Madvapes, and midwest 5vapor. I use a 510 passthrough with a 510 to kr808 adapter and midwestvapor has cartos for the kr808 at 1.25 each as of right now. It's cheap cartos and the adapter doesn't cost much either. So you try them without spending a fortune on 510 cartos. Which run about $6-$10 for five.
OH yeah welcome to the forum, have fun and from personal experience of being new not too long ago: read as much as you can from the veterans.

Welcome deanna,

I use carts around the house, because it's much quicker to fill them. Just use highpings cart mod, and they'll hold more juice so that you don't have to fill them as often:

When I'm on the road, I use cartos because they're easier (less messy) to swap out and last a little bit longer. However, they're not as easy to fill as carts. This is the easiest method for refilling cartos:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/67012-refill-cartomizers-quick-easy-video.html

It takes a bit longer to fill cartos because with a cart you just have to pull the filler out with tweezers, drop liquid in until it's full, put the filler back in then top it off if needed. It takes less time than opening a pack of analogs and pulling one out. Also, after refilling a carto, you should really do the taryn spin to help get the juice toward the atty or you'll get juice in your mouth.

Thanks. I did see some posts on Boge but not sure where to get them to try. Are these somewhat better or no? Quality?
Alex

Hi Deanna, sorry for the long delay. I got mine from VaporKings FIVE (5) Joye 510 compatible e-Cigarette blank cartomizers (This is NOT Genuine Joyetech!) They offer two types for the 510, the Boge w/silver threads and SLB w/ brass threads. The Boge is unanimously favored in VK's forum.

Perhaps you should wait a bit because some members are now trying out the new mega-sized Joye cartos that eliminates the cone problem, looks pretty slick, and purportedly holds 2.5ml of juice.

In the meantime, do Highping's simple cart mod...don't need to buy anything and it works great. Basically just pull out the filling with tweezers, cut-off about 1/3, fill cart almost to top w/ juice, replace piece of filler, top off, and that's it. Lasts a long time and drains every drop...and again, you have everything you need. Here's the thread

Hope that helps.

I have some MEGA cartos. I am giving them away at the Florida vapers meeting.

They are a PAIN to fill, leak all over the place, and make my eGo look like a clarinet...

I like my 901 adapter with 808 cartos WAAAY better.

<----- just this guys opinion, your mileage may vary.

Other options besides cartos:

1) Drip, especially with a modified ePump
2) Cart mods
3) Some type of "auto" system, like the AFS, Mr. Puffer, Nico-Drip, etc.

Could be the nicotine level is too high for you, do the headaches happen very suddenly after you vape, and go away within a half-hour or so? If not, I suppose you might be having some kind of reaction to the PG or VG in the liquid... you should definitely ask in the Health and Medical Issues section and get to the bottom of it.
