In a piece in the tobacco harm Reduction News & Opinion blog that discusses the nasty article posted on AOL, Paul Bergen referred to CASAA as a "reputable source". We are getting on the map, folks!

Worst e-cigarette article to date? And from a two time Pulitzer winner « Tobacco Harm Reduction: News & Opinions

I loved his ending:

I leave the last words to a journalist Carl Bernstein.

The lowest form of popular culture – lack of information, misinformation, disinformation, and a contempt for the truth or the reality of most people’s lives – has overrun real journalism. Today, ordinary Americans are being stuffed with garbage.

And from there, the author's blog post on the response he received to the article. Cold Truth » Blog Archive » Some E-cig users don’t like the safety of their vapor-generating devices questioned

Incidentally, should it not get posted there (my comment is awaiting moderation):
Your article on AOL received exactly the quality of comments deserved, as will this bit of self-aggrandizing whining.

I will be blunt. I believe that parts of this article, treated as fact, were created of whole cloth. You might want to check out Amtrak's unaccompanied minor rules. In fact, I feel certain that Amtrak would be interested in your implication that these two minor children were not interviewed, dropped off AND picked up by an 18yo with proper ID as per Amtrak's unaccompanied minor policies.

From there, it is probably understandably difficult to take the rest of your article seriously. Although, as the mother of an 8th grader, I would like to say that the "They're very grown-up, you know" quote (perhaps unintentionally) hilarious. Very Holly Golightly.
