Catfish atty mods.

I get a little bit of spitback and that could be that I'm a little closer to the posts than to the side wall. But I'm using twisted in my Derringer with a Brad cap on it and definitely get the spitting! I'll stay with twisted, but I might drop it down to twisted 28 or 3x29. Twisted 26 works well, it's just a really stout coil!

So you just deal with the spitback? I try to...but it winds up stinging. Honestly the spitback makes it taste all the better though LOL. Any tricks for minimizing it / dealing with it in general? More than any of my juices - Wakonda benefits greatly from twisted...sometimes I think it may be worth doing again...just dealing with the spit. Holy Pain.

I put a quick build in it late last night. Standard tensioned dual micros that weighed in at 0.8 ohms. Popped the cap on, air wide open, and put it on a regulated feeder. The chip was reading the resistance at 0.4 ohms which seemed kinda odd that it dropped so much. Popped the cap back off and saw the coils had gotten smushed down into the juice well! I had obviously built the coils to close to the outer edge and the inside of the top cap was hitting them.

May want to try moving the coils out toward the deck edge

I've found that the coils need to stay 1-3mm from the posts, or the cap crushes them down toward the deck.

Ive looked at em, was curious how they compare to the derringer though.

Tried, and same... I mean, the way this thing is built, I just know it is capable of the warmest, densest vape. The flavor is there, but I'm get more vapor from the Chalice. I'm gonna keep trying...

Try building a little lower ohms and open up the air. Set coils in farther than normal and a bit high and use a wide bore drip tip. This is what worked for me on the manta. I am at .3 ohms with air wide open and vape is not hot at all. I found that you kinda have to crank down the post grubs to get good connection also. My 2c

Well, thing is, I like a pretty tight draw. I did open it all the way up, and it's nice, but I just can't vape that way. It's kind of a problem trying to find an atty that has the right draw/air flow/flavor/vapor density/warmth for me. But I know I'll get this one dialed in... I am surprised that it's taking so damn much effort, though.

I know, right? It should be, like Kiwi said, a 22mm dual coil Chalice.
It's on my Peko, which I have adjusted... thing is, when I open up the airflow, it's awesome. So that's what makes me think it's my coils- have to figure out the right configuration for MTL.

I know what you mean - I saw it this morning and I watched RipTripper's video twice. Almost late for work. Everything about it screams "thought about it" to me. Ordered two during lunch (can you say "impulse buy"?). If it isn't "squonk-worthy", I'm gonna try to message these guys to discuss how we get there from here. I want this thing on every mod I own. Well, at least I feel that way tonight .

It makes my head spin how quick vaping is evolving.

I have a geyscano. It's practically retired now that I finally built my GDNA 3.1. The chip in the geyscano is junk compared to a dna.

Cool, but really just a cheap mech mod. "Mainstream" is regulated, I think. And bottom feed isn't really mainstream until Aspire or Kanger do it. But it could happen... maybe.
