Personally I would pay the extra for viton rings vs buna. Buna is fragile unless in perfectly machined and smoothed parts. Clones are often less than perfect.

Finally got a stable build build on the rem. Went with dual 32awg twisted NI200 w/ 10 wraps around a 2.5mm mandrel. No ohm jumping either. Warm and moist.

The Hornets have been ordered and Paid for. My guy has a ton of them (200+)if 30 isn't enough. For anyone late to the game there is a list floating around here for Hornets @$50 each bottom fed. I'm certain that's the cheapest you will find them anywhere. To Rob I say bring on the 14500 Reo Mini Mini!

I did not replace the screws. I made a loop to go around the negative inside the slot (not trapped under the head of the screw) for a 28g build and then did a normal style build with 26g. I have the right size grubs, will try to take some time this weekend to play around with differing builds, styles, gauges, etc...
For the loop build, I inserted the leg in the negative slot on the opposite side I wanted the coil, keeping the coil just on the outside of the atty. Screwed down the negative, flip the coil over to the correct side. This makes it wrap itself around that negative screw. Insert the positive leg at an angle (leg goes into the right slot, comes out the left) so when both coils are done the positive legs cross each other under the positive screw. My coils don't wobble.
You made my day! I have one of the first VV Reo's. Can't use a non-LP RM2 on it. The catch cup is too small. I have an original RM (not the 2) that is about the size of a fine sharpie. The Hornet will allow me to have an atty option for it. I do need a 14500 mini for the collection, so your timing is perfect!

I do Not like my rematty. So much of pita to try and coil. Wish I would have ordered a 2nd derringer instead of this rematty and fsm. Hint hint anyone?
I much would have preferred a 4th derringer to 2 remattys. Thus far the most disappointing rda I've ever used. That's because my expectations were so high though. That said I'm back home working on it now. Thanks to D grubs and Penguiness I have a stable build. We are about to break it in...
I think I damaged the positive post of the one I took into the woods though by trying to get stuck screws out from where my 26g had slid up beside of the screws. Unbelievable @ Rem Creations. No idea what they were thinking with those screws man. No clue.
At any rate pressing on with this build and if it's a go then I'll tackle the possibly damaged one. Hoping for flavor better than the long forgotten odin, because thus far, it's been that at best.
Edit after snapping a coil - I hate the rem. Tom's work is amazing, maybe the best I've seen. But 6 plus hours deep on this atty and I have nothing but hatred. Ugh. I can't believe I got 2 of them.
Another edit - ok it didn't snap just came loose from the neg. Imagine that. These "innovative" slots sure are wonderful

Ooooo...the Marquis sounds interesting. I was a hard core mesh genny guy for a couple years, before getting into drippers and squonkers. I still have lots of ss mesh around.

I hate to bash anything but this product has me angry. It really irks my chain when companies do stuff JUST to be innovative. Everything innovative about this atty blows. Ditch the neg slots for typical post. Ditch the u shaped crap and have a typical post. Life would be MUCH better. I did get that coil back in. I did have unusable hot legs like every other build I've thrown at the rem. Why? No idea. I did wick it and take a couple drags anyway. The flavor was good this time. Not derringer good but good.
Yeah I got a 8 wrap 26ga 2mm id dual coil in mine. Flavor is semi muted but decent. The atty works wonderful and looks amazing. But it's subpar is flavor and clouds. Would be a great atty for unflavored nic users imo.
Did you have issues with hot legs Jeffrey? I'm trying the same build. Just did it again. The leg that goes to the positive post always glows without fail, I'm thinking because the post itself is so much lower than the coil?
