I left the extra letters in, but changed the final "i" to "u" (as in the word "gratitude")

That worked. Gratitude. Grr! Attitude! | Grateful for my vape. Doing battle with the Alliance of Naysayers.

Doh! I must be burnt-out from too much CASAA homework! Thanks, CASAA board! Now just one more night of caffeine and vape and I'll file my comment and hopefully go back to sufficient sleep and intelligent communication. I hate to think what shape the board members are in!!!!

Before McAfee was hired by CDC, he worked for Free and Clear, which has been the leading contractor with many different states (and I think CDC as well) to operate the 1-800-Quit-Now telephone quit line (that tells all callers only to use FDA approved drugs to quit smoking, and that advises callers how to get their healthcare insurer to reimburse the drugs' costs and/or how to obtain the drugs free or at government subsidized discounts, depending upon the state).

BTW Free and Clear also demonized smokeless tobacco, dissolvables and THR before e-cigs came along.

Free and Clear is the same company that published a junk science study claiming that e-cig users (who called the quitline) were less likely to quit smoking than callers who didn't use e-cigs, and which issued a clarification about its study after Stan Glantz misrepresented the study's finding to claim e-cig don't help smokers quit.

Sen. Harkin also made several attempts to point out that there were approved products and that they are reimburseable through ACA. Never once mentioning the products weren't successfull (FDA and CDC didn't mention that either) or that some may cause more harm (suicide, toddlers attracted to gums and dissolvables) nor did they seem to be aware that a major motivation to quit smoking is the expense yet NRT products are more expensive than smoking.
