CE(place number here) atomizer kanthal wire. Smaller than 32.

It's been a while since I started a new post, so here it goes.

I've got several rba's and some 32 A Kanthal wire. The problem that I have is that this wire isn't working so well. I bought the 32 Kanthal because that's what I've read on the forum for a low resistance setup.

At first it works pretty well, and I'm also using a VV mod with it. But after the first day the vape is not as satifying. Even when I try to adjust the voltage.

I always end up going back to dripping on a chinese CE2.

I know the wire in the CE2 is a lot smaller than the 32 kanthal that I'm trying to use in my rba. And I'm also pretty sure it's not just a wicking issue. I'm using a bottom fed Penelope rba.

I feel that the coil is not getting hot enough...my VV Lavatube might be partly to blame. But all my rebuilds have tested to be around 2.0-2.3 ohms. Anyways I plan on getting a better PMW mod soon.

I feel the need to go with a wire smaller than 32 and I was wondering if anyone knew what gauge wire was in a CE2. Or what gauge wire works for your LR set ups. Thanks.

I don't know the gauge that's originally in them; but I've rebuilt Vivi Novas and CE3s with 34ga kanthal.

well, the thicker the wire the lower resistance (lower gauge wire is thicker but lower resistance)

I'm using a 4/3 wrap of 28 awg kanthal a1 and it's reading .9 ohms and it's working extremely well at 3.7v

Really? ^^ Now I'm confused. I thought a thinner wire would mean a hotter coil. I'm not saying that I don't believe the above post. But can someone else clarify?

Thicker wire gives less ohms per foot. My peni is loaded with Nextel, 28g kanthal at 1.3 ohms. Vapes like a train. Peni is a really unforgiving rebuildable if you are noobie, make sure you have lots and lots if patience to get the build just right as one small flaw will throw peni off and not function properly.

I know what you mean with the Peni. Looks like I'll have to give some 28g kanthal a try. What size Nextel wick are you using in the Peni?
