CE2-type carto that isn't so fiddly?

I really like the taste of a fresh dual-coil carto on my eGo. The flavor-producing capability of them seems to fade quickly though. A carto with no filler that lasts for many refills is what I think I want. Although direct dripping on an atty produces the best taste, it's just too much of a hassle.

So, where can I get a filler-free, easy-to-fill carto? - Or, does anybody know if CE2s or fluxomizers, etc. can be filled from the battery end?

You can't fill from the battery end.

A CE2 is less fiddly than you'd think. Take the seals out and put the last one back in upside down. No more syringe filling and wicks perfectly. It's 1.8ml per xl tank and you just need something like a toothpick to take the upside down seal out to refill it. It's no harder than taking out the soft cap of a normal carto. You just fill it like a cartomiser at that point; take the two "tops" out and just put liquid in them. I don't know how it's any more effort than filling a carto from the battery end using the condom method.

It's really not difficult or fiddly to fill it with a syringe either. I cut my seal slots into /\s for wicking then fill it with a syringe using vg. It's enough liquid in one for it to be worth "fiddling" with it. I take just as long to fill a cartomiser but I throw those away after a week of use with very little use. MY CE2s are months old and still almost as good as new. I'd sooner take 2 minutes to do the seal mod for it to be very easy to fill for it to last months than waste money on cartos that fail with vg or sit here and drip an atomiser every minute.

Hey John, thanks for replying. Your reason for not liking CE2s is exactly why I haven't bought any. (I would maybe try them if I knew I could fill from the battery end though.) Would you mind sharing what your set-up is? Have you found a carto tank that doesn't mute the taste? Do tell! :)
I make my own tanks (don't leak) with a fill hole on the poly tube & my carto that am using at the moment has been in my tank for 3 weeks now (not bad for a carto)

Some good info here - thanks folks! I really want to find something that works well for me:

- does not mute the flavor of the juice,
- has an easy draw,
- doesn't taste weird with some kind of primer,
- lasts a good while before the taste goes, or the draw gets too tight
- equivalent performance to a new 1.5 ohm dual coil carto
- works well at 3.7 volts
- doesn't look too dorky if I use it away from home
- easy to fill, i.e., no syringes or tweezers necessary

Leftfeild, I think I just may try a CE2 - thanks for taking the time to write your response! Which ones do you like and do you use a 3.7 volt device?

(I know, I know - I'm really picky!)

I was not happy with ce2's I tried fluxomizers at the lowest resistance (2.4-2.6 I think) on my ego batts. I was just not getting enough vapor at all and zero TH
I am currently useing punched 1.5 cartos in my big daddy tank and I could not be happier. no leaks at all easy to fill although you do need to use a syringe

XL 1.8ml 2.4 - 2.6ohm CE2s. I'm fairly sure mine were revision 5 as I don't have any deluxe versions yet. I need to go through the ones I have still. You'll probably want the deluxe/ultimate edition with harder casing. The old ones kept breaking but I made syringe cases for them or you can buy them pre cut for very little if you get the older ones. I just bought my partner some fluxos from gotvapes so when he gets them I'll let you know how they are compared to the ones I have now as he has a few of my old ones too.

I used them on a standard ego at 3.2v for the best part of 6 months but now I have the ego booster as well and tend to use them at around 4.0v as it's difficult to tell what voltage you're really getting with it. They perform well on a 3.7v device. The only one it can't match on your list is equivalent to 1.5ohm dual coil carto because it's only 2.4 - 2.6ohm. Once you've taken the seal out it's easy to take it back out to fill again and you just pour it down the sides like a normal carto. I also get about 15 - 20 fills on them before I dry burn them and they're almost as good as new. That's 27 - 36ml through one before I can really notice it needs cleaned.

Compared to a standard cartomiser, the CE2 is better for warmth because the coil is closer to the top. It's only a small difference but it's noticable. Much better flavour as well imho. I used to use cartos for my portable solution but I run them dry too fast when I'm out and about. They just aren't practical for me.

CE2 Clearomizer Easy fill plug & Tube removal How-to Gotvapes.com - YouTube

The only modification I do out of this video is pull it apart before I first use it then either put the seal back upside down or cut the seal slots to /\'s if I just want to syringe fill it. It took him about 30 seconds total to pull it apart and put it back together, and from there it's really easy to take the seal out again, similar to filling to cartomiser if you want to do it that way. It takes me about 30 seconds to fill the 1.8ml CE2s after I took it apart. They're cheap enough to try out anyway.

If you want to be ultra lazy (and I have done this lol) you can just take all the seals out and put on a drip tip. The only problem is having to keep it upright obviously but wicking is never an issue. Just tilt it sideways and wet the wick and it's good to go. To fill you just pour down the sides.

I haven't tried my fluxomizers from gotvapes, but the vision extremes are pretty good and easy, pull the tip off and fill with a blunt needle, the tip is setup like the tip on the ego-t tanks with the multiple chambers. With the visions, AFAIC its so easy a caveman can do it. It wicks my 100% VG avejuice bobas bounty very good, but its still day one with these for me

In my respectful opinion, CE2 tanks are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Dual coil tanks are the newest and big thing and, believe me, I too was skeptical. I find cartomizers to provide less flavor (I would know because I used them exclusively for nearly a year and experimented with nearly all varieties of cartos). I then started vaping cisco 306 attys (VERY nice, but dripping gets old), and finally moved on to the DCT MAP tank just as an experiment with no high expectations. I was utterly blown away!!!. A 2.5 ohm dual coil in a MAP tank ROCKS on my provari at anywhere from 4.8 to 6 volts. I'm now a believer. Plus they're so easy to fill, they never leak, and the cartomizer seems to have a longer lifespan in the tank because I've tried dual coil cartos before and they would die on me in 2-3 days tops. The way I vape, which is pretty heavily, I'm getting 2 strong weeks out of each DC carto.
