I'm very disappointed to hear that this is "still" happening - I still haven't tried the CE3s as a result. Concluded some while back that getting hold of the 'next great thing' as soon as it becomes available may possibly not be the smartest idea. So now I sit back, wait a while, keep an eye on ECF and other forums to see if people hit problems (which they generally do) and if so, how do they resolve them.
I came across this issue with CE3s killing batteries (they appear to be particularly good at doing it to the the eGo Passthrough type, by the way) in the TW forum ages ago, shortly after they were first released. Last I saw, people seemed to reckon the problem was the centre post on the CE3 was just too large and therefore more likely than most to allow a short circuit to occur if there was any slight displacement. This would represent a basic design flaw if this theory is correct, and must make them a complete nightmare for sellers to stock as a result. I'd be interested in Ita's opinion on this, given his recent experience. Good (if rather sad) pictures, thankyou.
I must admit I haven't been monitoring this closely, does anyone else know if Microcig are in fact addressing this issue and there will be a 'Release 2' on the horizon to cure this problem? Although I freely admit that it irritates the hell out of me that this kind of shenanigans should be necessary at all, and puts users in the position of needing to try and keep themselves up to date as to how to handle each successive version of the same product because basically the original was not in fact ready for release onto the market.
I've lost track of just how many versions of the CE2 they're up to now, and have also found that not all sellers are always actually aware of which version they have in stock - the packaging gives no indication of this, either. This leads to yet another hazard for the unwary or novice vaper which does nothing whatsoever to advance the cause of encouraging smokers to give vaping a try! If I were just coming to ECF for the first time now to inform myself about electronic cigarettes, I'd probably decide it all looked like way too much hassle and carry on smoking!!
Rant over - hope someone has an answer to this, but would be unsurprised to hear that they're already up to R3 and I simply haven't heard about it because I don't spend my entire life reading the forums...
