Don't forget that if it sounds too good to be true it probably ain't.

Might not be really good cells, might not be 1000mah.
Low quality cells just might be subject to failure.

But, camera flat packs and cell phone flat packs have been used and they do sell separate chargers for them. The protection circuit for the 7.4 volt ones is probably not in the battery pack.

I don't know about the quality or the brand name of these batteries this cheap. I do know about Ultrafire (which I thought was a good brand). I bought 4 Ultrafire 14500 and after a week of use 3 of them were bad. I ordered some more but in the meantime I only have l. I was vaping 3.7 with the 14500 but now I am vaping using 2 15270 at 6.0 volts even though it is destroying my atomizers. I have ordered some XHV atomizers and hopefully this will help.

Well, I guess labels are cheap.
Ultrafire sounds nice but I agree they are low quality.
I use the 3000 BigRed but it is not as good as several other brands, just cheaper.

The reason I commented on the cheap cell batteries is because I have bought some for my cell and for a few cameras and they were advertised as much higher mah than the factory batteries but I knew they wouldn't be. But at a fourth of the price couldn't pass them up. Good luck with batteries and hoe you have better luck.

FWIW at the CPForum it appears that folks feel the TrustFires may be better than the UF's. If I was to lose 3 in a week though I would definably check voltages of the batts when they come off the charger. Could be your charger is at fault.

Ummm I just made my first two mods and but it in here somewhere it was from a lithium ion cell phone battery. I used the holster out of an old cell [hone for the casing of the bettery and I just charge it with the other old cell phone. They work great for me I have one at 1200 mAh and it gets out consistently. I like the shape because they make for neat lookin mods.

Do note to all attempting this that cell phone chargers are not chargers per se, they are just power suppies that power the actual charger (that determines the voltage cut-off) that is internal to the phone itself.

My take on cheapo batteries is to stay away from them.

I own a communication company that provides two way radios, Nextels, and other communication gear to public safety and the military. Almost all of my contracts require OEM batteries where the "battery cells" originate from Japan and not China.

When it comes to voltage you should be fine. I have tried mods on Nicad, Li-ion, and they all work well and last uber long. I can also condition and analyze all my batteries for great performance and capacity.
