Ok so I finally got myself a LT and am now starting to look for a good tank system that isn't gonna break the bank. I have a few adapters to go with it so I should be golden there. 510 to 808, 510 to Ego, 510 to 510 shorty adpater. With my short experience I have found I like the warmer vape, prefer the sweeter flavs and hate carts with filler...lol. So I'm trying to figure out what would be something good, tankish, that might suit my needs. The only carts I have found that I do like are from Smokeless Image but I'm looking for somethign that will hold 3+ ML of liquid. I don't mind rebuilding if it isnt to much of a headache to do, as I have not rebuild any as of yet. SI uses the horizontal coils so I guess if need be that would be the carto type I could live with. I've looked into the Vivi Nova but I hear alot say the flavor tends to be kinda blah with it.

So any ideas of lower cost, easy fill, full flavor, top or bottom coil/wick, non filler tanks out there anyone can point me to. Right now I have a Pheonix BC so using a syringe to fill doesn't bother me to much but just need somethign that holds more. Thanks in advance and sorry if I posted in the wrong area.

I'm primarily a tank vapor. I haven't yet invested in any of the non-carto/non-filler type tanks. I try to keep up with their reviews on the forums and they still seem to be having a lot of issues. I'll stay with the tried-and-true for the time being.

I started out tanking with the newer Smoktech DCT (dual coil) polypropylene tanks. I got mine from My Vapor Store and PB Dragon. These polypropylene (syringe plastic, frosted) tubes are sturdier than the earlier polycarbonate (clear) tubes IMHO; also safe from those juices known to crack or melt polycarbonate (cinnamon, banana and other fruit flavors). They come 3.5 ml to 6 ml in size, available in clear frosted or several frosted colors. Relatively cheap. Being new to carto tanks you'll likely want to get pre-punched cartos. You'll likely be disappointed with single punched (the pre-drilled holes are too tiny); I'd try to find double or even triple punched cartos. Look around at the various vendor sites for them; Mad Vapes often has them. Eventually learn to punch your own cartos by investing in a carto punch tool (for around $15) to save money in the long run. I'd also recommend the Slap Your Mamma tool from Big Daddy Tanks. You'll thank me later.

Pyrex or glass is the best tank you can get, but they generally are 3-4 times the cost of the alternatives. Phiniac, Siam Mods, and High Desert tanks are examples. I have a couple of innexpensive pyrex grommet tanks from Valley View Vapes and a couple of custom made tanks on order from High Desert.

I started vaping with Smokeless Image and their cartos and clearos. I can't honestly say their cartos are any better or worse than those from Smoketech or Boge. If you do decide to stay with SI 808 cartos with the adaptor for your LT, your tank is not going to sit flush, but I guess you've figured that out already.

Another alternative to a tank is the mega cartos that hold 4-5 ml. I have a few from AltSmoke (Smoktech brand) XXXXL mega cartos. These are nice, dual coil, good flavor and vapor, easy to fill.

Heya, thanks for the quick reply. ya I looked into the DCT tanks but they require using a carto with a filler in them. Do they tend not to "burn" as easily being there in a tank with constant liquid? That and the flavor issue is why I didn't end up goign with them. I have some 2.5ohm Smoktech carts here but the flav just wasnt the same as on my Pheonix. I assumed this due to the fact that the Pheonix doesn't have the filler and the Carts do. I assume the carts are the same as for the DCT except for they are pre-punched and alittle longer, is this correct?

Well, a carto can still burn inside a tank if the juice isn't being delivered to it fast enough, or at all. The key to tank vaping, in my opinion, is getting a consistant and easy flow of juice to the cartomizer via the "feed" or punched holes.

The pre-punched (drilled) cartos sold are IMH too tiny to properly wic in most cases. The 2 or 3 holed cartos seem to work better for me, without flooding the carto. I've recently begun punching my own, which I like because I can customize the hole size and how many holes, depending on the viscosity of the eliquid. A downside to punching your own cartos is this can cause a minor deformity to the roundness of the carto, causing some issues with how easy it goes into the end caps of the tank. I'm still debating whether to continue to try punching my own or finding vendors who have a consistant supply of 2 or 3 hole pre-punched cartos.

It would be my understanding that there is no difference between the materials used between regular and punched cartos; they are the same carto that some have a small drilled hole. I don't notice much difference between brands of cartos, although my experience has been only with both the Smoktech dual coils and Boge single coil that I am currently using. Some people claim to notice a difference in flavor between the two, I haven't.

My only experience with non-filler juice delivery systems is with Smokeless Image clearomizers. I still occassionally use those on my Silver Bullet and BB mods, but I can't say the flavor of juices in them is noticably different from a great working carto tank. But, your milage may vary. ;)

I think the clearo's might be more my style. So far though all I can seem to find is 1.6ml clearos. Do they make any in the size of 3ml or more. The pheonix I use would be more a clearo style and really liek em but they are small and bottom coil. I know they do make em at 3ml but again them are BC as well and they never seem to have stock. So to redifine what I'm looking for then...a good clearo that can hold 3ML or more and is a top coil/wick system that doesn't cost a god awful amount.

I do have 510 to 510 shorty, 510 to ego and 510 to 808 adapters so anything that will work with these would be fine. Did want to add I use a 70/30 PG/VG mix from Vapedudes.com for my liquid.

The Vivi Nova is a great option for a large capacity clearomizer. In fact, they are what I'm currently using. The Phoenix Tank from gotvapes is another option. They are syringe fill, which kinda sucks, but they have unparalleled flavor. As good as dripping. I've used the small capacity ones and plan on trying the larger ones once they're back in stock (any day now).

I'm assuming the Pheonix tanks are the same as the smaller Pheonix Bottom/Top coils that I currently have. I really like them but just don't care for the size and low volts they require. If they offer the same taste and vap just in a bigger size I'd be game to check em out. I was just hoping to find somethign that didn't need the syringe but am OK with using one if I need to.

I have noticed that my Pheonix does not like going above 3.5v tho for some reason. this is using a 2.4-2.6ohm Pheonix. They get a slight burn taste once I hit higher for some reason. This is another reason I'm looking for a better tank/clearo

Wanted to add another peice of info. I like to change my flavs a good amount to be honest. This is another reason for a clear type tank as they are much easier to clean imo.

I'm not sure about the voltage. I didn't have a VV until after I switched to Vivi Novas. I'm going to give the tank version a whirl, though, and yes they function exactly the same as the 1.5ml version. I plan on getting the higher res ones (2.6-2.8ohm) to try in the low-mid 4's. We'll see how it goes.

I like BC< i just need somethign that is bigger then a cart in size. The Pheonix I use atm are BC and they work pretty good just don't have the size. The only carts that I really don't have an issue with is smokeless images carts as they are a bottom/horizontal coil. I am using some Smoktech 2.5 atm and have to constantly fill them because the coil is vertical and it dries out. But back to ur question I do like BC but I also like the warmer vape which TC seems to be able to give.
