So I took a stab at DIY tonight with mixed results. I was going for a DIY that didn't incorporate any premade flavor mixes that I could just drip in at a low % and work my way up. I decided to go for a tea, because I hadn't tried any tea juices yet. I started out by heating up about 20mls of pure vg until it began vaporizing slightly. I poured it out into a glass and added a tea bag, Chai Tea to be exact. I let that sit for an hour and then squeezed the excess juice out of the bag before moving forward. I got about 15mls of juice out of this so about 25% of the juice stayed absorbed into the tea bag. I bottled this up using a syringe and shook it for a good couple of minutes. I gave this a vape. It was very earthy and you could easily pull out the tea and herbs in the flavor. I decided to add a bit of pure vanilla extract and orange extract as well to add a little more contrast to the earthiness. I also boiled up a bit of raw unrefined sugar untill it was a syrupy consistency and added the slightest amount to the juice.

This final product was satisfying, but EXTREMELY intense. Due to it being 100% VG, the vapor production was insane. Ultimately, the orange and black tea flavors really come out as dominant. I like it to some extent, but it is missing that crucial "something" to make it great.

Any one else try making juice with teas? Any great successes? I think I may do a Darjeeling and add a lemon peel during the steeping process and see how that turns out.
