Chain Coil

So I keep building coils, trying to find my sweet spot. Of course its still fun to post them here and find out if everyone is trying something similar. So here goes another one. This is 4 strands of 28ga kanthal to make a chain coil. Total resistance is .22 ohms in dual coil.

How is the chain formed---would like to try this myself----I wound 4 coils the other nite with 1 piece of wire---28 guage---.14 ohms on stillaire dripper--slppy job but will try again sometime----I have silver grey Crysler 300 love yours

wind 2 strands clockwise as tight as they go, then fold it in half and wind counterclockwise till the chain forms

this is the same way to make a triangle twist. the triangle forms before the chain. its called a triangle because it has three ridges

i use something kind of like a chain i straighten 4 28g wires then twist them all together in reverse they look ok but i made a chain and wasn't really happy with the size of them pic doesn't really do much justice to it kinda looks like it has mini tight little bitty chain links in it though. 0.2 ohms

I guess this coil I made would be called a quad sleeper coil---made with a single continuous length of kanthal 28 guage---I had heard of people making multiple coils

from a single continuous piece of wire and became interested and thought I would try it too.

Must try again and be more accurate on the length of the legs and shape of the coils

But it is a lot of fun no less to see what you can come up with--

This wire twisting is interesting with all the different shapes available --even if the coils that you make from it don't exactly measure up to your expectations--it is still fun to twist wire kind of
