I pulled the trigger on the origen. For me, the chalice is too similar to the rm2 to justify its price. The only difference being materials. The origen is a totally different concept, offering air flow control and native dual coil setup. That said the chalice will fit a standard grand while the origen will require a LP grand.

I have a v-1 Chalice and a v-2 Chalice, and they're pretty sweet. I've never tried the Origen, so have no idea there. The Chalices are really nice, well-made RBAs, BUT I like my RM2s just as well, and they're 1/4th of the price. To me, the Chalice is NOT any better vape than the RM2, and it's actually not as easy to coil.....

I know you're looking for a comparison, and I don't have one for you. Just wanted to give my thoughts on the Chalice.....

Were would this BF Origin be available ??? If say i was a teeny bit interested :)

Well I don't know if this will help because I rock woodvils 100% of the time but I'm picking up 2 more chalice attys to bring me up to 4 ...... One for each wood REO.

The fit in the well perfect ..... look like they were made by a swiss watch master craftsman ...... and never ever let me down, and I have one of the very first ones made. Heck that had to be almost or over 2 years ago now.

Have a look at the Graal, too: GRAAL - TA Standard
Currently available in Germany: GRAAL SW Verdampfer - Leckerdampfen

But other than that, I have both a Chalice II (First run) and an Origen Dripper V1. The Origen is a huge thing for a Grand - it is 2mm wider than the catch cup of the LP Grand. While it IS a great dripper, it might just be too large for the Grand. It is primarily a dripper, too, and bottom feeding is an afterthought. I would wait for reports on its efficiency before commiting to it.

The Chalice was nice and innovative when it came out first. Nowadays it delivers the same vape all of the BF-Atties do and it is nothing special any more. An IGO-S from Robert will not be worse.

I think the origen loses some of it's functionality in the bottom fed version. Unless the juice wells don't drain, I don't really see the point at that price. Vertical coil design is not for me as well. Unless the chalice has afc, I don't really see a justification of price vs. performance for my needs with that either, just my :2c:

Do you think the Origen is worth the price point? By the way, is that Twin Peaks I see in your profile picture? I love that show!

This is where I saw it, they're out of stock right now, though. And actually I'm now realizing that I first found out about it by hildicat posting the link in another thread, so the thanks goes to her.

I wouldn't say nothing special anymore ..... just because it performs the same as others doesn't mean its nothing special.
Are Woodvils nothing special because the perform the same as a Grand ??

The chalice is a machining piece of art IMO .... it really is special ....... and more than half the "other" BF attys are .... ugly IMO.

And the Chalice drains back far better than any other (unmodified) BF atty that I have ever used. Its the one to have on if you want to throw the REO in a bag and have zero drops of juice escape.

This be V3.

1st run had some brass and posts with threads and screws.

Second run had no brass ( ti and silver plated what used to be brass) and the thread less posts and funky screws.

Third run looks to be same as 2nd with the improved screws :)

Me too :)

Hey Russ, quit giving away all my secrets!:p

I see it like this. So far there have been two distict styles of BF RDAs. Those that have posts at the perimeter of the deck and fill/drain hole on the deck [Chalice, RM2, Graal], and those that have one post in the center (usually supplying juice from somewhere on the post) and the second post on the perimeter [IGOs, ERA, Hornet, Divo, Cyclone].

I much prefer the first style I described because personally I find it easier/better for making the kind of coils that I like to use. I've tried just about all of these and though the Chalice is great and beautiful and well machined and made from quality materials, it doesn't perform any better, in my opinion, than the RM2.

The Origen is a completely different concept in coil placement and mounting. Its first version has had stellar reviews and therefore warrants a try in my book.

Is it worth the price? Wont know till I try one, but even if I hate I'm sure I will be able to sell and recoup most of my investment.
