I just received mine today, and I have to say it's a quite a bit more "substantial" than I expected. It's certainly rugged, though.

I may be in the minority, but I'd like to see a lighter version; smaller diameter body, lighter cord, etc. Like Paul in the previous post, I'd like something a bit more portable. An LED would be a nice touch too.

My dream passthrough would be 6 volt vaping capability with a shorter, more manageable cord that swivels at the connection and a portable battery pack that can handle the 6 volts!

Also - threaded connections that are a reasonable size so no cross-threading occurs.

Minor consideration - no well around the atty connection for the juice to collect in.

These features would be way too cool and I'd be willing to pay a premium price for these features. :)

A: Hey Mamu ... The PS USB can already handle 6v ... It comes down to the power pack however :)

A: Fixed by going with stainless ... Shouldn't have the cross threading issues like aluminum

Minor consideration - no well around the atty connection for the juice to collect in.
A: See, I prefer the well, especially on the 801 ... Reason being, if there is no well, it ends up running down the side of the tube and getting all over everything:(

See Red Mamu!!!! Thanks for your suggestions!

A friend of mine is a medical technologist and wanted to do a bacterial culture of the liquid in the well of my Prodigy when I had it.

So maybe it's just me then, but after hearing that it started to freak me out when I saw liquid collecting in the well. I ended up cleaning it like every hour cause he said bacteria spread quickly in warm, moist environments. So I would just prefer not to have something like that so close to my mouth.

Hopefully, everyone keeps the well clean and dry, especially before going to bed when you won't be using it for hours.

Just another maintenance thing I guess.

Steve you need to figure a way to keep the cord from rotating in the body. Mine has the plastic end where the cord comes out and the cord can rotate fairly easy. In the long run this will obviously stress the connections inside till they break.

Now that you mention it, this is also one of my concerns, since I seem to spend so much time arranging the cord.

Perhaps taking a gander at an RCA style connection into the PT...hmmmmm?

Will the USBpass will no longer have the black coating?

Hey Tesc .... Can't deny or confirm at this point ... The next production run will ramp up here within the next week or two and I should no more on final decisions.

PS ... The E-Clip we now use, seems to help this quite a bit ... Makes it a bit more rigid on the inside :)

Hey Cash, when will the PT switch over to stainless? I have one ordered w/my protege will it be stainless and if not is there a way I change my order? Sorry to such a pain but oh well, sorry.

Within the next couple of weeks Kard ... But they won't be ready for some time, and there will likely be a small price increase as well. Its up to you whether or not you want to wait :)

we have thought about an alternative .... just comes down to pricing :)

FWIW, the new design looks very similar to something that is already out on the market. The black coating, on the other hand, is very stylish and distinctive to your product.

With a "mobile" unit like the Prodigy or the "PP," it might be worth sacrificing the black coating if that would make it possible to make the unit slimmer. Nevertheless, I would love to see that added as a line extension, as opposed to a replacement for an existing product (in the case of the Prodigy).

I had to dig down for this, but wanted to write somethings down.

1. An indicator light telling you when your button is depressed would be good. I know some people's buttons get stuck, and they prob don't notice til they see smoke coming up from the table where they set their PT down. For me it was my couch, haha. And it would be super cool!

2. re-enforce the end connection, i understand the e-clip may be durable, but it seems to be a single point of failure right now, though i haven't opened mine up to check to see if there is another stress point in place.

3. i see you said you were taking the protege switch over, that is most excellent as it completely alleviates my number 3.

4. more flexible cord, but same gauge? I don't know if that's possible, according to your measurements in your "how to test volts under load" test going from 20 to 24 gauge wire dropped output under load by .3 volts (or something like that, maybe it was closer to .2), thats too much for me. If they make more flexible cable that's the same gauge as the current, then i would say go for it. I don't think they do though. You could alleviate this concer by incorporating a stress point via the swivel end that was mentioned earlier in this thread.

5. Shorter cord, 4.5 feet should do, 3 ft is often too short for someone to be at the computer, and use their vaporizer while standing, 6 ft. is too long for a lot of people's preference, (i often am passing by, and have it ay my computer and want to take a quick vape on the way by), 4.5 feet works great... i tested it, on a 36 inch computer desk, and i am 6'1, so there you go 3 foot was too short, 6 foot was plenty long enough, but creates a cable management issue, 4.5 feet. perfectumundo.

6. maybe offer a resisted switch? I wouldn't want it, but a lot of your die hard 3.7v vapers would love it i am sure. I am not sure if the current form factor of the PT itself would support it, but you could put a resistor in the cable.... though i am not sure if that would become cost prohibitive, haha.

7. body color, some people like the bling.... shiney chrom, some people don't, you could even design for one to be a sleeve that fits over with the adapter and switch off, man that would be sweet.

Thats about it, just some food for thought, i love the current PT as is, its effing sweet.

I still use the heck out of mine especially in the morning when I want a mello vape.

What I would really like to see is a switch to regulate the voltage from 3.7, 5v and up to 6v somehow. I have been reading about some capacitor being used to boost voltage on some mods. That would be the cats .... To be able to switch it mid puff. Start off high and slide it back in the middle of the puff...I use a potentiameter dial thingy on my welder at work. I slide my thumb forward for more juice and back for less.

Any thoughts?

Might want to look into one of those power pack with adjustable voltages, might not work for your on the fly adjustment but anyway. I like your idea!

Heavy Duty is the word with this Pass Thru. I think it could handle whatever voltage you throw at it very well. And for 39 bucks you can't go wrong. It is what sold me on the Prodigy and believe me I an very, very happy with both of them. Reason being, adaptable and high quality. The cable on the Pass thru is very heavy and has a gold plated usb plug. You aren't going to hurt it and it will last a long long time. They offer adaptors to use different atomizers.
My USB hub puts out 5.2v so I am sure you will be fine at 6v.

I was wondering on the PT do they function well at the 3.7 range to 6v?
The reason I ask is I am working on a portable battery pack mod for use with a PT with varying voltages.

The PT you guys make is the more heavy duty looking USB PT out there.
Yeah you will be fine with 6v if you wanna go that high, that should put you at a little over 5v under load, should be similar to a prodigy.
