Charger broke? Please HELP!

I have an joye eGo and battery charger, the batteries came fully charged and both of them have lasted me a week and a half. Now my second battery dies and I load in the other one that I thought I had charged... Its dead, I load the other one, nothing.

The lights on the charger stay constant red on the charger side and green on the battery side. No flashing lights on the battery. No matter if I plug it into the wall or the computer. (by the way, I cleaned everything)

I tried plugging the usb charger part of it into a ipod usb charger adapter... Then the lights on the battery blinked and the charger finally went to red, instead of being stuck on green. Is this ok? Is it charging? Im in dire straits here

Anyone have any feedback on my issue?

O, also can I charge the battery with the usb part in a car dc adapter, without damaging the battery or charger?

Yes as long as it is a current USB port you will be fine. Older computers USB ports would not have enough power.

So it sounds like the broken part of my charger is the wall portion? (Since the apple adapter works)

It looks to be "kinda" working now, except the battery charger is turning green about 10 minutes after I plug it into the apple usb adapter? I know its not fully charged?

Is their a brand of charger that is better than another that I could get and depend on the reliability a bit more? It seems like so much of this equipment is not up to the greatest standards...

Anyone have any more information? I plug in the "Dead" battery and the charger light stays green! But the battery is still dead...

Im wondering if it is the battery or the charger that has the problem?

Try cleaning the threads on both the charger and battery. It might not be getting a good connection.

I will, but when I inspect it they both perfectly clean. I mean their only a week and a half old?

By the way, how do you clean the threads inside of the eGo charger? It is so tight that a qtip will not fit.

I pull the cotton loose on the q-tip, dip it in alcohol, squeeze the cotton a bit and swab real good in mine. It has kept mine clean for now.
I also make sure I clean the threads on my battery before putting it on the charger.

Ok, will try. Also, wouldn't the color of the charger stay red if it was a "Dead" battery? So its the charger?

E-mail the vendor with a nice 'this is what is going on' in a nice and patient kind of way and see what they say. You might have a bum charger. I wish I had more to offer in advice.

Do you have a reguler 510 charger? It will take much longer, but you can charge an ego battery on a basic 510 charger. If that works then you have a charger problem, if not then you have a battery problem.

pm me your address and I can get one in the mail to you.-Before I jump the gun let me pull them out and see if they really work.

Due to only reading that they would work I find that they do not fit. There must be some sort of adapter that is needed. I will dig out my old m series charger and see if that works.

O.K.-I have located an old usb, tiny little thing, that the charger light recognizes the battery and goes from green to red once i put my ego on it. If you want it, it is yours. The darn thing is smaller than my pinky finger~lol.

I appreciate that, allot! But I don't want to make you do that... Ill buy one tonight and get it shipped, your on the east coast & Im on the west coast... Ill try and order from somewhere close and try and get it shipped quick. I don't want to put anyone out (money/time).
