Charging Battery??

Long story short...

battery charger that only has one adjustable slot (meaning it charges 1 at a time)

but it can fit a 18650 (the fat long one)

question:

can i stack 2 16340s , 2 123as in that slot and charge both at the same time???

im guessing no, but if the answer is no please explain to a smart 5th grader why i cant do this

the charger is set to charge to max of 4.2v per batt and it would measure the voltage of both battys and not charge most likely or charge incorrectly.

So it is one at a time or a dual charger is needed..

granted there are no 7.4v batteries

so nutshelling you are saying that slot will only charge 3.7v? size doesnt matter (yeah right)

makes sense in a way

im not uptodate on the liion thing... (i still use alkaline in my remotes)

whats the worst thing that would happen if i tried?
and what if i placed some sort of resistor in between the batteries?

i wont do it (99%) but am curious to know why (5th grader) without having to google physics ?

meh, read 1 page on something...

is this correct, the charger simply restores the voltage

so the used 3.7v battery would be less and the charger brings it back up to 3.7

stacking the batteries would give off the impression that charging isnt necessary (since the total voltage would be way over 3.7) and nothing would happen

new question if the above is true: how does the charger know the battery should go to 3.7
if the charger is simply built to bring whatever battery is put in there to 3.7 what would happen if you stick a 1.5v C battery in there...

dont these batteries shut down at around 4.2V
and chargers have their own safety precautions no?
i dont have the batteries or charger yet, but ill bet nothing happens
