For those who fear a battery exploding while plugged in due to overcharing, buy a timer. They cost less than $10 and you can set them for whatever time you want. It shuts off power to the plug and you don't ever have to worry about overcharging. I tried the ones with the little green and red sliders you move around the dial to set the time and it stopped shutting off properly. With the type below, you just push out the lil buttons for however much time you want to charge, plug it in, and be worry free.
This one is not the one I have, but very similar. I found it on home depot's website for $5.96. Very small price to pay for fewer worries.
